E-Stim Systems Duo Pinwheel

The E-Stim Systems Duo Pinwheel

Vendor: E-Stim Systems

It’s been over five years since I reviewed E-Stim Systems’ Monopole Pinwheel. Since then I have been reader questions about the Duo Pinwheel. I thought such a review would be unnecessary because it is just a duopole version but since apparently there is a demand for the review and your wish is my command, here it is.

Design

The basis of this toy are two standard pinwheels with added e-stim functionality. The are 180mm long and the wheels have a diameter of 32mm. For connection to your e-stim box a 4mm banana jack is solidly soldered onto the top of each individual pinwheel. A shrinking hose has been put over the body of the wheel so you can safely grip it. The two pinwheels are connected using machine screws with acorn nuts on both sides, creating a gap of 10mm between the wheels’ bodies. Around the screws and between the two pinwheels are polymer spacers. Also the washers are made out of plastic, so both pinwheels are completely isolated.

Detail of the Spacers

Playing with the Duo Pinwheel

In the Monopole’s review, as always when it comes to E-Stim I warned about currency running over the chest because it can be fatal. The Duo Pinwheel solves this problem. Because both poles are only 15mm apart, the chances of currency not taking the shortest way between both (which is usually the one of lowest resistance) are very very slim. So as long as both poles of the Duo Pinwheel are connected to the same channel of a power box with isolated channels (like the E-Stim Systems 2b or Pebble), the pinwheel can be used all over the body, even the nipples!

Even though, the mass and covered surface area doubles in size compared to the Monopole version, the e-stim sensation does not change much. Regardless of the power box or the program, the sensation will always be a stingy one. It feels like little needle pricks. Though the power level determines whether they are tantalizing or excruciating.

Detail of the Two Banana Jacks

The non-electric pinwheel sensation is a bit different from the Monopole. Since two wheels are now touching the skin, the nerve input is stronger and delicate feelings like tickling are almost impossible to create. The sensation is a light to medium stingy pain which does not break the skin. On the other hand, the sturdier, handier build of the Duo Pinwheel allow for more pressure to be applied without it breaking away when running over the sub’s body. So it finally delivers the sensation most people expect when they see a pinwheel. This comes at a bit of a price because the elegant curving over the sub’s body is kind of hard to achieve with both wheels touching the skin.

Conclusion: Easy and all-over-the-body to use skin electrode for intense pain
Pro Cons Where to get Price
Extremely painful on small area Only stingy sensation possible E-Stim Systems £49
Can be used all over the body
Studier build and easier to control than monopole version

ElectraStim AXIS Unboxing

While the snow is falling heavily outside the window, it is a good time to get ToyTorture.com out of its hibernation. I decided to start with an heavily requested piece: The unboxing of the ElectraStim’s new leading power box AXIS. If you are interested in how the box performs in play, read my impression of the beta test unit here. The guys from ElectraStim informed me that they are currently fine-tuning the first update which will incorporate some input I gave them over my time with the beta unite. Once it is released, I will write an update article how the box improved. But now, in medias res of the unboxing…What sets AXIS apart from all other power boxes is the exterior packing. While a sleeve around the carrying case has been the industry standard (except for the unmarked corrugated fiberboard boxes ErosTek ships their power boxes in…) for years, ElectraStim decided to go with a full cardboard box with a glossy full color print. Since the full potential of AXIS does not really jump out, having more space for texts and pictures is a good thing. Though as a marketing professional, I would have wished for two or three enticing pictures on the back instead of just a dry yet information dense text.Opening up the outer packaging reveals a nice surprise: Instead of going for the already mentioned “industry standard” hard plastic case they went for a soft shell nylon zipper case. I like this innovation because I can store a little bit “crushable” case better in my play luggage than stiff one. Also, it protects the unit inside better.Inside, the layout is very traditional: The bottom half is filled with foam which features a cut-out for the power box itself and a larger one for accessories and cables. Inside the lid is a zipper closed mesh pocket for smaller accessories. What is noticeable compared to other power boxes is the lack of a battery. This is because AXIS has a build-in one which can be charged using a standard micro-USB cable. Through this design decision, the power box itself measured only 112x70x23mm and weighs just 116g play-ready.How much punch is packed in a really small sizes becomes apparent when placing AXIS amongst its “relatives”: It is only slightly larger and heavier than the Flick Duo which also features a build-in battery and considerably smaller and handier than the equally powerful but less feature-heavy and 9V battery-powered SensaVox.AIXS comes with a nifty belt clips which is a nifty accessory when playing with the movement sensor or accelerometer.Since AXIS is a dual-channel power box, it comes with two 120cm long 2mm socket-to-2mm pin leads. When ElectraStim contacted me, asking me if I would be interested in beta-testing something new and exciting I got my hopes up that they would take the big leap and change their lead system to the “industry standard” 3.5mm jack-to-4mm banana plug but I guess once you design your entire electrode ecosystem around a standard you cannot change it anymore so I will continue to carry adapters around with me.Like almost every power box, you get a set of pad electrodes which is a nice to have for play right out of the box.Since AXIS has quite sophisticated audio processing, the unit comes with a 100cm high quality line-in-cable which features gold-plated 3.5mm jacks for perfect transmission.I have to be honest, I am a bit amused when I found a 55cm long micro USB cable inside the box. Yes, it is essential for charging the power box (But where is the USB charger?) and for updating it, but I can hardly imagine a household without a single micro-USB cable. Maybe a pure Apple fanboy household.Speaking of updates, the small metal pin is needed to press the hardware button to initiate the update process when AXIS is connected to the computer. And speaking of the computer: You need a computer to read the full manual. Inside the case is just a little quick-start guide in English, French, German, Dutch and Spanish and the little flyer about how to get the extended 3-year warranty.

AXIS

Vendor: ElectraStim

The ElectraStim AXIS

For over 5 years, I have been doing reviews of e-stim power boxes and electrodes on this website. Through the annual E-Stim Specials and e-stim being one of my favorite things as a bottom, I have earned a bit of a reputation of being an e-stim expert. So naturally I was thrilled when ElectraStim approached me in late 2018, asking me if I would be interested in beta-testing a top secret project: Their new state of the art power box AXIS. They sent me a beta version I have played around for a couple of weeks now.

My review sample being a beta version makes this review a bit special. Due to the NDA I signed, this review is purely based in my own experience. No testee panel members were involved. Also ElectraStim told me that the software was not 100% final so there might be minor changes or little glitches in the user interface for example. I did not encounter these glitches. However, I will update this review along the lines of the production unit’s “proper” testing. Finally, the packaging and what comes with the box was also not a 100% final. As soon as I receive the real deal, I will do an unboxing [Update Feb 3rd 2019: The unboxing of the production unit has been published].

With that in mind, let’s cut to the chase…

Construction & Operating AXIS

The design of the AXIS follows the one of the other ElectraStim power boxes: The case itself is a made out of a sturdy black polymer with a soft-touch surface. The control panel on the top is framed by a silver bezel while the panel itself has a silver-sparkling charcoal color. On top of the control panel there is a 35x20mm turquoise light LED matrix display. In the top left and top right corner a little number indicates the current power level of the left and right channel. Between them there is the current program set written and the battery level indicator. The lower 4/5th of the screen is divided by a dotter line which separates an area for each channel to visualize the stimulation and/ or output level of the currently selected program either through blinking or diameter-changing circles (wave and pulse set) or a bars (flick, tilt, proximity, microphone and line-in set). Below the display is the photocell which can detect proximity as well as movement direction up to 10cm distance.

The Control Panel of AXIS

The lower half of the panel is covered by the control buttons. On the left and on the right are the power up/ power down buttons for the two channels. When keeping the “Up” bottons pressed, there is a  1 1/2 second lag before the intensity goes up quickly which is a useful safety feature against operation errors. On the way down, the lag is considerably shorter with half a second. Though if something goes wrong, never turn the box down. Just pull the lead out of the socket. A weird quirk of AXIS is that the maximum intensity is set at level 50 instead of 99 or 100. This is not only counter-intuitive, but makes the communication when maxing the unit a bit awkward. “I took you all the way to 50.” does not really inspire. I already communicated this impression to ElectraStim and I hope they fix it in an update.

Detail of the 2mm Lead Sockets of AXIS

In the middle of the upper row is a button labeled “M” for going through the seven program sets (wave, pluse, flick, tilt, proximity, microphone and line-in) and finally the configuration menu. To choose a stimulation pattern inside a set, press the button with the two arrows forming a circle located just below the “M” button. In order to select it, leave the cursor on the setting for 3 seconds and it will be selected. When pressing the double arrow button while stimulation firing, it will take you to the selection menu of the current set. Every time a new stimulation pattern is selected, the output level is set to zero on both channels.  The lowest button is the power button which turns the unit on and off.

The rest of the box is fairly standard stuff: On top of the case there are two 2mm sockets for the leads, at the bottom there is a 3.5mm line-in, a micro-USB port for charging and the microphone.

Measuring just 112x70x23mm and weighing just 116g, the AXIS is the lightest and smallest of the high-end power boxes. This attribute is bought by the fact that instead of using 9V block batteries, the AXIS has built-in lithium-ion battery. Depending on the stimulation intensity, it will last for about 6 hours. However, if you run out of battery life mid scene, you are screwed. Not only do you have to have a power bank or a USB power supply and a micro-USB cable at hand but the unit can’t be used while charging! To get from zero to 80% takes about an hour, the last 20% will take an additional three.

Detail of the Photocell for the Proximity Programs

Playing with AXIS

Little preview: The AXIS is currently the most versatile power box on the market. But this comes with a price: The Arduino inside the box takes 11 seconds to boot. What is extra irritating are the first 3.5 seconds until the display is initiated. During this time I often wondered if the box actually started or not.

The sophisticated hardware allows for some nice features. In the settings menu, there is a “Run Time” info which tells you how often you have powered up AXIS, how long you have used it in total and how long is has been since the box has been powered up this time. Especially for extreme e-stim aficionados is the “Nerd Mode”. It turn additional information of the current running programs of Wave, Pulse and Tilt on, like the frequency at the bottom of the screen, below the program visualization. In all modes there is a little thick bar at the bottom of the separation line in the middle of the screen. The higher the bar, the more energy is consumed.

Detail of the Display Reading of a Pulse Program in Nerd Mode

Usually in this part of an e-stim power box review comes the description of the programs. But AXIS has a whopping 47 (!) build in. So for the sake of reading flow, I put the large table below my conclusion box at the end of the article. What I found a bit disappointing was the fact that I could not modify any of the programs. I received the AIXS beta pack without a manual, so I had to discover the box and features on my own. When I turned on Nerd Mode with the details of the program displayed on the screen, I intuitively expected to be able to modify them. But no key combo worked. So I got in touch with ElectraStim and they confirmed that indeed the programs cannot be altered – yet. It is the beauty of the Arduino inside that it is such a powerful SoC which leaves space for development. The company said that the master mind behind AXIS’ development will look into adding the manipulation feature to the programs if possible.

My Run Time Statistic at the End of my Testing Period with the Beta Unit

In other e-stim power box reviews I already talked about in length what evil things can be done using a microphone (for example a self-enforcing circle of pain once the sub starts screaming), the line-in (like using a synthesizer to “play” your own programs) or the movement sensor. The newest sensor is the proximity sensor which yields hours of devious fun. Just to give you some ideas: Hold it in front of a pendulum, use your sub as a screaming “light barrier” at a passage or let him participate on another sub getting spanked or fucked by a fuck machine. Placing the motion sensor is a bit tricky and takes some time to figure out, but once figured out, it is a devilish tool.

Just like its (grand)father the SensaVox, AXIS s a very powerful unit! Using the ElectraStim Prestige ElectraLoops with a wave program, I started to notice the sensation with AXIS at 10% of the maximum intensity, while I had to take the E-Stim Systems 2b and the ErosTek ET312b up to 18% of the maximum intensity.

Detail of AXIS Bottom’s Interfaces from Left to Right: 3.5mm Jack for Audio Line-In, MicroUSB Port for Charging, two Microphones

Speaking of comparing it to the main competitors: What I personally did not miss but probably many will, is a remote control feature. With E-Stim Systems’ Connect service for the 2b, they set the bar for easy to use and powerful remote e-stim scenes. Maybe it will be one of the features added later in an update but. But if you are looking for a box for web cam scenes, look elsewhere. If you are looking for the most versatile, scene layout creativity inspiring and deviant e-stim power box out there, get AXIS!

ElectraStim will be accepting pre-orders starting Jan 7th 2019 and according to my latest information, they will start shipping on Jan 15th 2019. Furthermore, I have not yet been told the price. As soon as I get new pieces of information, I will publish them here and on Twitter.

Conclusion: Powerful e-stim powerbox with many sensors for creative scenes.

First Look: E-Stim System Connect

Today at EroFame in Hannover, E-Stim Systems introduced a new way to remotely control their top range 2B power box. After basically spending the morning trying the new system out, let me give you a short intro how it works.

First, what do you need? The bottom obviously needs an E-Stim Systems 2b, their Digital Link Interface (already included in their 2B Bonus Pack formally know as the „Pro Pack“ which I reviewed here) and a computer. Currently the software and drivers are available for Windows 10 and macOS. They also supply a Linux software which is currently not yet supported. The top only needs a device connected to the internet with a browser, in this case a Samsung Android tablet.

After installing the drivers and the software, the bottom must connect his computer with the 2b using the USB cable and switch on the box.

After lunching the software and clicking the “Connect” button, it takes a few moments to pair the computer and the power box. This will only work when the computer is connected to the internet. Otherwise the status will stay “Not connected” even though the box and the computer are connected correctly.

Once this is done a 16 digit alpha-numerical code is display. Clicking on the number will copy the connection link which has to be sent to the top.

When clicking to the link, a website with the code already filled in opens. After the top clicks “Connect” the computer client’s indicator switches to “Connected”.

The website on the top’s device now allows to control all basic functions of the 2b like selecting the program, setting the output levels of the two channels or switching from low to high power modus.

Every input given on the website will also be displayed on the 2b’s screen.

Clicking “Stop” sets the output level on both channels to zero. The same happens when changing the program, just like when doing it on the 2b. What I am missing compared to their cold Commander software is a pop-up when (the sub) disconnects the box.

I was impressed how well the software worked on the release date. It is easy and intuitive to use and very responsive. Controlling the box in the same wifi and over mobile internet in the same country almost had no lag. I had a few problems with the desktop client crashing but no major issues. However, E-Stim Systems just announced the new service in a tweet which was to date retweeted twice until now and wrote nothing about it on their website’s landing page. On the 2b product page they still write about their now outdated “Commander” software. So I guess there were not that many people using their server. It remains to be seen how reliable the system works intercontinental or when the server are busy. I will revisit this review in a few months to give you an update.

Until then, I am very impressed by what they have done and it has given the 2b a real advantage towards their competitors. I can already see kinky geeks working on Linux based SBCs with 3G connection to create a mobile remote-controlled e-stim box.

If you are interested in the E-Stim System 2b, you can buy the Bonus Pack which comes with everything needed to connect it to your computer directly from E-Stim Systems for £378 or upgrade your existing 2b power box with the Bonus Pack for £89 or just by the Digital Link Interface for £69. The 2b Power Box and the Accessory Pack are also available at Mr S Leather for $399.95 resp $119.95.

Oxballs Shockballs

The Oxballs Shockball

Vendor: Ballistic Metal

Construction

Like all ball crushers the Shockballs has two plates measuring 189x129mm. The lower one is made out of 6mm thick black acrylic, the top one out of 5.5mm thick clear acrylic. In the upper half, there is a hole in each plate. The lower one of the entire junk, the upper one for just the dick. Both holes are nicely rounded and flawlessly deburred so there will be no unintended pain or injuries. To fit most dick and ball sizes, the Shockballs comes in three hole sizes: 31.7mm & 44.5mm, 38mm & 51mm and 44.5mm & 57.5mm which I have bought.

The plates are connected by a clear acrylic hinge at the top. At the bottom there are two M5 screws for pressing the top plate down on the balls using wings nuts. On the screws there are also nuts as an adjustable compression limiter.

Detail of the Electrodes‘ Upsight with the 4mm Sockets

Below the holes there are two aluminums clamps screwed onto the clear acrylic using three sleeve nuts. The nuts’ round-head are the contact points of the electrodes. To connect the electrode with the power box, there are 4mm holes to fit banana plugs drilled into the bottom of the clamps.

Playing with the Shockballs

The hinge is a blessing and a cruse: Usually with ball crushers your fiddle with two or even three pieces, always risking to pinch some skin. This won’t happen with the Shockballs. But: If the sub already has a full-grown boner it is almost impossible to get the dick through the designated hole so the crusher can’t be closed again. The hinge’s height also limits maximum squeeze to 18mm (and a minimum of 42mm). While that is enough for a strong compression feeling, it won’t cater to the total nut pain pigs who want their balls compressed paper thin.

Detail of the Electrodes‘ Contact Areas

So much for the bad news. The good news is: The toy as an awful lot of fun to play with. While yes, putting it on with a hard dick, especially larger ones, not having to deal with shifting, getting wedged plates made me use the Shockballs way more often than my other ball crushers – even just for crushing. On a more personal note, I also like the industrial look of the brushed aluminum clamps compared to the poles being on the base plate on other e-stim ball crushers which then feature clear top plates. Tough some testees did not like the somewhat obstructed the view on the compressed sack.

The e-stim sensation is generally starts out mostly smooth. But since there are only three contact points it quickly can be turned stingy when the intensity is increased. Since the contact area and mass on both poles is almost identical, the sensation is felt on both poles when connected to one channel of the power box. The most interesting/ deviant stimulation is putting a mass-rich counter pole (everything up from the E-Stim Systems Torpedo Large like the Stuffer or [X]L Black Collection) inside the sub so the stimulation is only felt at the balls. Then choose a program which alternates between the two channels (like HiFreq on the Erostok ET232) so the agony constantly jumps from one side to the other.

Detail of the Screws to Tighten the Crusher

It is general a good idea to put a flexible cockring around junk’s base to keep the balls from retracting back into the body. If a sub has smaller/ tighter balls, I also recommend to stretch his nuts with one of the many flexible cock rings/ ball stretchers from Oxballs. This way they won’t be squeeze through the dick or junk hole (whichever has more slack). If you are really mean, you use the Zapp or Volt to electrify also the ball’s neck.

Conclusion: Nicely looking, easy to handle e-stim ball stretcher – if the dick is soft.

Erostek ET312b

Vendor: Mr S (USA) and Regulation (EU)

The Erostek ET312b

Since the ET312b is sometimes considered not to be compliant with EU electronic device regulations, if shipping it to the EU I highly recommend ordering it from Regulation. I had several friends’ boxes ordered from the USA seized by customs.

Construction

The Erostek ET312b is probably one of the oldest e-stim power boxes which is still on the market. Its design has almost become iconic, the characteristic beige box having been featured on so many porn pics over the last decades – until Erostek changes the design a few years ago to a more stylish black. This design change lead to some discussion in my testee panel. Some – like me – prefer the new look because it fits the style of most playrooms and scene atmospheres. Other likes that the old box popped out and is indeed a classic. If you have an old box and want the new look, there is a kit to exchange the case – or do it the Trikoot way and use alkyd based paint to color the case in your signature color. The case has a rough texture which forgives finger prints while the control panel is still glossy. The box measures 205x157x65mm making is the largest of the e-stim power boxes. This is largely due to the lead acid battery which has a capacity of up to 48h. But which also makes the box with a weight 1.200g making it the heaviest box on the market. When the battery gets old, it can be replaced with a little bit of electro technical know-how but unlike the other boxes which are powered by 9v block batteries, if it runs out mid-scene in a club you can’t replace the battery instantly but have to use the power supply unit. Generally speaking, Erostek sales almost everything as spare parts. So if something gets broken and you are handy, you can fix it yourself.

Detail of the Control Panel

The entire front of the box is taken up by the control panel. The left third is for display information. On top there is a two-line green backlight LCD. Below it there is a hole through which you can adjust the screen’s contrast using a fine screw-driver (which is only necessary in extreme weather conditions) and two red LEDs which flash when channel A and/or B is firing. In the middle there are the main control buttons. The first horizontal pair are the grey buttons Menu and ok. Pressing Menu will get you to the advanced setting (see below) and OK will select the currently displayed menu point. Next to them are white buttons labeled Up and Down. In the menu they are used for navigating. Outside the menu, they are used to scroll through the box’s programs. Next to the Up key there are three rotary controls. The first is “Multi Adjust” to manipulate the current program, the other two are controlling the power level of channel A and B. Below the three knobs there is the power button which starts up the box, the link jack for connecting the ET312b with a computer, 3.5mm jack line-ins for the microphone and another one labeled “Audio”. I have tried the microphone and music on both jacks and got the same effects so I am not sure why there are two. Theoretically the mic should create very faint sensations when plugged into Audio but I did not experience that. Next are the two 3.5mm outputs for channel A and B and last the input for the power supply unit.

The ET312b comes with a few accessories: The power supply with adaptors for USA, EU and Canada, two 1.2cm long 3.5mm jack to 4mm banana plug leads, a 2m long line-in cable to connect you phone or MP3 player with the power box, a microphone with a 2.4m long cable and holdfast with a small glue patch to permanently position it somewhere in your playroom (though the holdfast is so flimsy and the glue to weak, I use adhesive tape to position and fix the mic in a suitable position for each scene) and an informative manual. What the ET312b doesn’t come with – unlike most other modern premium e-stim boxes – is a nice carrying case.

Playing with the Erostek ET312b

The ET312b is used like every other box. After pressing the power button a 3 second self-test is run after which the battery’s power level is displayed. After that connect the leads to the electrodes, connect them to the box, select a program and slowly turn the channel’s intensity up until the sub starts to feel someting.  The ET312b has 18 resp. 24 different programs. The last 6 programs are custom once which can be transferred onto the box using the ErosLink software. After selecting a new program there is a short ramping up period. This is to prevent too intense stimulation for the case the power level has not been turned down before the change. This is necessary because every program feels differently intense on the same power output level. The sensation of the programs can be adjusted by turning the Multi Adjust knob.

Program name Sensation Multi Adjust Effect
Waves Wave-like sensation with random wave length and intensity Speed of waves
Stroke Steady wave form on both channels Wave length
Climb Pulsed sensations that increases up to the maximum selected  intensity Climbing speed
Combo Sensation like wave program but changing between the channels Length of stimulation on both channels, simultaneous stimulation when turned all the way up
Intense Unmodulated waves Wave length and feel from soft to spiky
Rhythm Pulses of increasing sensation which’s output will increase each cycle Pulse length
Audio 1 Transforms audio input into same stimulation on both channels Selects input’s sensitivity level: Turn Multi Adjust until LEDs are flashing than start adjusting the channels’ intensity
Audio 2 Transforms left side audio signal into stimulation for channel A and right side for channel B
Audio 3 Transforms left side audio signal into stimulation for channel A and right side for channel B but process the waveform in a unique way
Split Channel A: Stroke, channel B: Waves Speed of waves & wave length
Random 1 Mixes patterns from the first 6 programs for a unique stimulation Alters selection variable
Random 2 Random stimulations at changing intervals No effect
Toggle Constant output on alternating channels Changing speed between the channels
Orgasm Ramping up pulses alternating between the channels Pluse frequency
Torment Brief stimulation bursts with random pattern and random breaks Pluse frequency
Phase 1 Allows for stimulation to be felt in three electrodes on the body Speed of changing between channels
You need special tri-phase cables to experience these channels
Phase 2 Adds changing intensity
Phase 3 Three programs on only two channels

With an output of 80 micro coulombs per pulse the ET312b is the most powerful unit in the market. Through the powerful battery it delivers this output regardless if running on battery or using the external power supply. While most subs do not really need the full power on most boxes, if you are having a real pain pig over, having the extra power in the backhand without having to change the electrodes is good.

Just like the E-Stim Systems 2b, the ET312b supports tri-phasing. This means using a special cable the stimulation can be felt at three areas using only a two channels. Since for this kind of stimulation there is an interaction between all three poles, never use it above the waist!

The Microphone which comes with the ET312b

What sets the ET3212b apart from all other power boxes currently available on the market are the advanced features which you can access through the menu button. These features can be used to customize the power box to your personal preferences like:

  • Turning the ramping after a program change on and off
  • Selecting which two programs should be run in split mode
  • Selecting which program the ET312b should be the default after starting up
  • Choosing a power level
  • Change the feeling of programs

As already mentioned Erostek also sells soft- and hardware to program the ET312b. Through the Eroslink software you can write new programs, alter existing programs also on the fly or choose from 25 new programs to fill the six “hidden” program slots in the menu. I have never used the software myself but tried it at a friend for a short time. While it is powerful, you need a lot of understanding how e-stim works (or trying out a lot on the fly) to really develop new routines. And while the interface is functional, it looks very Windows 95 – which explains why the connection to the box is done via a serial port… Especially if you look for remote control over the internet, take a look at the E-Stim System 2b.

Last but not least: Because the ET312b has been on the market for so long and through the advanced features is considered a “pro box” (even though most people probably will never use the features), sooner or later most e-stim enthusiasts will buy one of these boxes. These makes the ET312b the ideal choice for subs who host traveling tops because it is likely that the top will already know how to use the power box without an introduction.

Conclusion: Most powerful, most sophisticated, most widely used but most complicated power box.

Vyper XL

The E-Stim Systems Vyper XL

Vendor: E-Stim System

Construction

The basis of the Vyper is a rectangular piece of 8mm thick, black, polished plastic which measures 220x145mm. On top of this base plate two pairs of golden sheet electrodes are mounted, each sheet measuring 80x28mm. Using four 55mm long M6 screws a clear 110x110mm and 5mm thick plastic plate can be fixed on top of the base plate and tightened using butterfly nuts. There are two of these plates so the entire base plate can be covered. Depending on the bottom’s dick size, one or two places can be used to torment his dick. At the bottom of the clear plates, the same electrode layout as on the base plate can be found.

There are four terminal pairs on the top and two pairs on the bottom below the upper pair of a compression plate. There is a connection between the upper and lower terminals so even if you don’t attach leads to the lower ones, stimulation will come from the lower electrodes.

Detail of a Terminal a Screw for Tightening the Upper Plate onto the Dick

On top of the board there is a little eyelet through which either rope can be threaded or a carbineer attached. Since the total weight of the toy is 650g, it is a good idea to have something which keeps the Vyper from moving around and thus putting the dick in an unwanted location.

For more compact play luggage E-Stim Systems also offers a short version called “Vyper 2” which is half the size of the Vyper XL reviewed here.

Playing with the Vyper XL

There are two ways of wiring the Vyper: The quick and easy and the more elaborate way. The quick and easy way is always connecting a yellow and a black terminal to one channel of your electro powerbox. This way the simulation direction is left and right and you rule out any chance of short-circuiting your power box. For the more elaborate way, you connect the two alike-colored terminals above each other for a top-bottom-stimulation. In this case you need to place small rubber patches where the top terminals connect to the lower electrodes. Otherwise you will short-circuit your power box! While most premium e-stim boxes can withstand this stress, it is not good for the hardware. Also, you won’t feel almost any stimulation regardless of the power level. Furthermore, make sure that the dick touches the panel you connect the box to. This is especially important with less well-endowed subs.

Detail of how the Upper Terminal connect to the Lower Sheet Electrodes

After the technicalities have been taken care of, now on to the fun stuff. The sensation produced by the Vyper actually depends on the dick size. Since the electrodes have very small mass, the more of the dick covers them, the smoother is the sensation. This leads to interesting mind games: Either endure the dick being pressed more severly for a smother sensation or take less pressure but more stingy e-stim. When compressing the dick, taking it slow and not to extremes is wise. Ironically the cavernous bodies are more sensitive to compression than the balls so do not tighten the top plates to the max. It is actually useful to add a nut or two as a safety barrier. The sensation can be made a bit smoother using conductive lube.

Through the Vyper’s unique layout, it takes a bit of time and experimenting which programs wired which way works best for your sub. For me, programs I never found enjoyable suddenly made sense using the Vyper XL. Playing a little bit with pressure during play – like tightening the lower or loosening the upper plate to “squeeze” an orgasm out of the sub – is also a lot of fun. One sub even managed to cum inside the Vyper just from e-stim.  If you have a “larger” sub, taking single plates off opens a hole new range of play possibilities. Either just fry the glans or polish and sound it while the shaft gets all the stimulation.

Details of a Sheet Electrode Pair

For even more varied CBT scenes, the Vyper can be used without the top plates. Simply use rope or elastic bands to keep the dick pressured against the base plate’s poles while you torment the shaft and glans with (e-stim) pinwheels, pegs, a violet wand or impact play. You can even use wax though it is a pain in the ass to clean off!

Speaking of cleaning, after play spray the exposed areas with a sanitizer and wipe it off afterwards. If you used large amounts of lube, your sub came all over the place or through other means it has gotten completely messy/ dirty, soak it in warm water with dish soap and use a soft sponge. However, take extra care when trying. With so many little gaps and holes, water can linger and cause corrosion!

Conclusion: Unique, little bit bulky design for interesting new, rather stingy e-stim sensations.

E-Stim Systems Black Collection

The E-Stim System Black Collection Bi-Polar Butt Plugs

Vendor: E-Stim Systems

2 ½ years ago E-Stim System introduced their Red Collection, a more “sculptural” approach to their popular (and by me highly praised) bi-polar electrodes. While I liked the shape of the electrodes, the design with red velvet colored isolators and mirror-shine finished poles did not really appeal to the “rough” look I like in my toys and playroom. Also, the sizes were quite “Lady-like”. Naturally I was excited when they turned their Bobble into the Black Collection.

Construction

The basic design are two beads stuck onto each other. They are separated by a black plastic neck which serves as an isolator between the two poles. At the bottom the lower bead tapers into a base which has the same diameter as the beads. Around the base run three (resp. four on the XL) groves for better grip even with lubey fingers. Into the base’s bottom a 4mm hole to plug in 4mm banana plugs is drilled. The plugs are available in four sizes.

Diameter 42mm 50mm 54mm 60mm
Height 113mm 131mm 146mm 160mm
Diameter 1st Neck 26mm 30.5mm 34mm 37.5mm
Distance to 1st Neck 42mm 50mm 54mm 60mm
Diameter 2nd Neck 26mm 30.5mm 36.5mm 39mm
Distance to 2nd Neck 83mm 96mm 103mm 113mm
Weight 330g 520g 720g 970g

Detail of the Satin Finish

The upper bead is connected the lower part by a stainless steel screw. At its bottom there is a 4mm hole to connect the upper pole to the power box using 4mm banana plugs. To not short-circuit the e-stim box, the screw-head is isolated with a white plastic separator from the base. Around the banana plug socket these is a little hexagonal socket for easier disassembly when cleaning. This socket is highly useful because the screw is harder than the aluminum the electrode is made out off so it will dig into the material. I have older electrodes which do not have this socket and which have become almost un-screwable.

Like all premium bi-polar electrodes the Black Collection is made out of aircraft grade aluminum which is perfectly finished in E-Stim System’s satin matt finish. Since I have already gotten some reader questions about this topic I want to stress that the toys are indeed silver colored and not like in the promotion pictures black.

Playing with the Black Collection

For basic information on how the bi-polar electrodes perform and how to choose the right size, please check out one the review of other models I have published some time ago. Here I want to talk about how the interesting design produces unique sensations.

The Bi-Polar Plug Disassembled for Cleaning

What sets the Black Collection apart from all other bi-polar anal electrodes I have seen so far is that the split between the two poles is at the top instead of the bottom. So when lying down you can choose either choose between pushing it in all the way to the second neck or let the sphincter wrap around the isolator on the first neck. In this position all stimulation is focused on the sphincter, just like with the Micro. But through the larger mass and surface area the sensation is smoother.  Since the mass center unlike the other electrodes is on the outside the sensation feels… in lack of better words inverted. This is especially interesting when a wave program is used for a fucking sensation. It is still a fucking but with a new, different twist.

When sitting, standing or walking the electrode should be pushed in all the way. Especially when not sitting, the mass center outside the body will make it very likely that the electrode will fall out of the ass otherwise. Pushed in all the way, the sensation moves from the sphincter inside the body. This is a weird feeling, because the stimulation feels like a big, massive surface electrode but isn’t experienced on the skin. Again, it is hard to describe, but it adds a new sensation to the e-stim repertoire.

Detail of the 4mm Socket for the Banana Plug and the Hex Key

Especially the two largest electrodes have enough weight to develop an own movement momentum when the sub’s body moves, for example through walking or making him jump from the stimulation inside him. Depending on the rectum’s physiology the electrode will start to tumble, adding a physical sensation to the fact that electro stimulation flashes up on different areas on the bowel mucosa. Depending on the sub’s anatomy, the upper bead can lay on top of the prostate. So just like when a Classic hits the prostate, only using the upper pole in combination with a pad electrode attached to the perineum above the prostate is an interesting way of tormenting this sensible body part. Some subs can even be trained to get milked that way.

Finally, let’s take a look o how the Black Collection’s plugs perform just as anal toys without added e-stim. While they are fun to ride for more experienced anal players, they are good for training new fistees. Slowly fucking the hole with the two beads will teach the hole to open up and close again, even when the entering object is relatively dull. The beads are also perfectly designed to stimulate the prostate; one testee even developed a technique to how to thrust and twist the plugs just right to prostate-milk his chastity sub.

Conclusion: Uniquely designed high quality bi-polar anal electrode.

Twisted Monk Conductive Bamboo Rope

Twisted Monk Conductive Bamboo Rope

Vendor: Regulation

Construction

A few months ago I talked about Twisted Monk Hemp rope which comes in a number of different thicknesses for different kinds of play. Today’s review item is made out of bamboo fiber which stands out compared to other materials because it has anti-bacterial properties. While this provides some level of protection, if you want to be 100% sure, you have to wash your rope between scenes. Bamboo is softer than hemp, making it ideal for fragile areas like the fingers or the crotch area. Twisted Monk only makes Bamboo rope with 6mm thickness. It can be used for most forms of bondage but is not strong enough for suspension bondage. Like all Twisted Monk ropes the ends are whipped using strong yarn to keep the strands from unraveling. There is about 4cm of rope before the whipping. I prefer to keep it because the slightly unraveled end makes the ends easier to grab but you can cut it off if you prefer a neat and tight end.

Detail of the Whipped End

While Regulation only stocks the “Steel” as a color which is a nice blend of white, dark and lighter blue, Twisted Monk also offers black, crimson, denim, ivory, sunset and violet as colors. As an added feature, a conductive fiber which is not made out of cooper has been weaved into the rope. This allows for electric currency to be transmitted while not triggering metal allergies. This fiber is white and thus even the solid colors like black and crimson have some white spots.

Playing with the Conductive Rope

Switching from hemp or cotton rope to bamboo takes a bit of getting used to. Since it is softer, it hugs the body more, making it ideal for body harnesses (though the thickness of 6mm sometimes lacks a bit of “presence” on the body). But since it is softer, knots also tend to travel a bit. So while the rope is theoretically strong enough for most forms of bondage, I did not really use it as a primary fettering mean but add it to exiting ties.

Charging the Rope with a Violet Wand

The rope opened up a whole new world in e-stim play. Except silver covered cooper wire which is pure sting and agony, the Conductive Bamboo rope is the only large area electrode I am aware of. So suddenly entire legs or arms (always be aware that currency MUST NEVER TRAVEL ACROSS THE HEART!) could be energized surprising my bottoms and through the muscle reflexes even myself. Being soft, it enabled intricate layouts like a helix around the dick (something conductive silicone tubes are too stiff for) or around the toes. The latter is especially fun with a motion triggered e-stim box.

To connect the rope to an e-stim unit pole connection clamps are used. I recommend using isolated ones to keep the connection clamp itself being the connection to the body. Theoretically you can simply push a 2mm pin (4mm banana plugs are too thick) into the rope but the connection is unstable so I would not recommend it.

Connecting the Conductive Rope to an E-Stim Box with A Pole Connection Clamp

Despite the mass and contact area being relatively low, it is enough to counter a conductive loop or pad for example. So to really get the e-stim sensation at the rope position I recommend using a massive butt plug from E-Stim System. Even the smaller Classic or Micro ones did work well so no worries if the sub is anally inexperienced. Alternatively, the rope works also great with a violet wand. This is especially fun when used for a body harness when the currency suddenly flows all over the body.

Conclusion: Unique electrode

Oxballs Meatplug Sounds

Vendor: Oxballs

Welcome back from the summer vacation! Taking some time off ToyTorture.com is important for me to get new toys and gather review experience with them, get creative and also enjoy the playroom without purposely use a specific toy just to get to know how it performs.

The new review season starts out with something a lot of you have been asking me for months: The 4th installment of the E-Stim Special. You can look forward to reviews of power boxes, anal electrodes and torture devices. So stay tuned and follow my social media channels.

To kick off the special, I am going to take a look at the Oxballs Meatplug Sounds.

The Oxballs Meatplug-1, -2, Sil-Plug-3 and Meatplug-5

Construction

All Meatplugs share the basic design: They are 80mm long and their base has a diameter of 15mm. On Just above the bottom there is a hole drilled through the base to house a 4mm banana plugs for connecting the sound to an e-stim power box. Above the hole there is an area textured with groves and ridges (or in case of the Meatplug-5 thin silicone rings) for better grip even with lubey fingers.

Out of this base the actual dilator tappers which looks differently on every sound:

  • Meatplug-1: 4mm tip increases over 23mm to 7.5mm, drops to 5.5mm over 5,5mm and then flows into the base within 26mm
  • Meatplug-2: 3.5mm tip increases to 5mm over 10mm. Afterwards there are 5 ridges 5.5mm wide grooves between them. The first ridge has a diameter of 5.5mm and then increases by ¾ of a millimeter each time until it reaches 19mm long shaft with 9mm which ultimately flows into the base.
  • Meatplug-3: This sound starts out with a 8mm half sphere which tapers to a 7mm thick and 5mm long shaft. This shaft extends to a 8.5mm long and 9mm thick bead. After another 5mm of shaft there is another bead (9mm long and 10mm diameter) and again after a shaft section a final bead (9mm long and 10.5mm diameter) until the dilator flows into the base.
  • Meatplug-4: After a relatively dull tip the shaft is smooth until it increases again with a dull yet rounded step twice. I have not bought this sound because it looked too extreme for me so I cannot say much about it.
  • Meatplug-5: The dilator part of this sound is a string of 7 beads with a height of 6.5mm and a diameter of 8mm tapering to 6.5mm at the connection point. Since the beads are not perfect spheres, the tip relatively dull.

The Meatplug-5 connected with Banana Plug Lead to an E-Stim Powerbox

All Meatplugs are made out of aircraft grade aluminum so they are supersmooth for easy and injury-free insertion. They are available in four colors: Polish aluminum (which is silver) and anodized in either red (which is actually a little bit pinkish), black and blue.

Oxballs also makes all five designs in high quality platinum silicone, then called Sil-Plugs. Of course these toys do not have a socket to connect them with an e-stim unit. But instead they come in two red tones and a yellow. My #3 is actually made out of silicone, first because I wanted to compare the different materials and second I could not get my hand on a Meatplug-3 in Europe.

Playing with the Meatplugs

The easiest of my four plugs to take is the #1. The tip is not too pointy to irritate the urethra and it slowly opens the sphincter just below the piss slit up to a reasonable degree. Even most sounding novices usually can take between 6mm and 8mm diameter right away. Just like in anal play, the sphincter needs to be seduced and slowly trained to open up. The plug design where the dilator tappers again after the maximum stretch makes it a good training toy for the sphincter.

Detail of Meatplug-1’s texture

The next toy on the intensity scale is #5. The blunt and large tip makes it necessary for the sphincter to be well pre-stretched (for example with the #1). But once inserted, the diameter does not increase making it easy to relax and get accustomed to the toy. Through the smooth bead design with not too extreme difference between maximum and minimum diameter the sensation of the sound being moved up and down inside the dick feels like a gentle massage.

Despite the sensible diameters, the Meatplug-2 is a challenging and intense sound. The ridges feel relative rough inside the sensitive urethra so the sphincter tenses up easily. But since the diameter increases with every ridge, it is always a challenge for it to open up again further and further when gently fucking the dick with it.

The most challenging one is the #3. While it is a little bit easier to initially take than the #5 due to the half-sphere tip, the stretch of the following beads is intense. 10mm and 10.5mm is really advanced stuff despite the gently increase in diameter. I am actually lucky that I have bought this sound in squishy silicone instead of unforgiving aluminum. I could not imagine how it would feel to stretch this diameters with no give – though I am enticed.

Detail of Meatplug-2’s texture

Despite their rougher texture, the #2 and #5 are not as bad as they look. Sure, they provide an intense stimulation but the grooves also trap a lot of lube so they re-lubricate to a certain extend.

When it comes to e-stim, caution is advised! Due to the little mass and contact area, the sensitivity should be increased very carefully. Also, since all sounds are naturally mono-poles, a second pole is needed for play. I recommend a conductive loop around the balls or the whole junk. Once wired up. each of my three aluminum plugs performs differently. The smoothest is the Meatplug-1. It provides the largest contact area and thus the sensation is easiest to control. The Meatplug-5 provides an interesting sensation combination. Whenever a new bead “pops” in, there is the stretching sensation but the e-stim intensity is reduced a bit. The stimulation drop is usually not noticed by the bottom but the intensity jumps when pulling out is quite noticeable. Just like with un-electrified play, the #2 is the most extreme. The contact area of the ridges is very small, so even the most delicate intensity adjustments will have significant effects.

Detail of Sil-Plug-3’s texture

When playing with sounds, there is actually only one right form of lube: Sterile water-based lube. A classic of sterile lube is KY Lube Steril which comes in a tin tube. But just like the sounding lubes offered by different kink companies as soon as you open them, there is chance of them becoming contaminated. The more often you open them, the higher the chance. So I recommend small sachets with contain between 3ml and 5ml of sterile lube which is enough to insert two or three sounds, depending on how long you use one sound. Because the urethra is one big mucosa, the water-based lube will be absorbed sooner or later. While this can be annoying you do not want to have a foreign material like silicone lube lingering in there after play, providing substrate for bacteria. So even if you prefer silicone or oil-based lube for anal play, I strongly recommend sterile water-based lube in sachets for sounding.

Just like using the right lube, cleaning is imperative when playing with sounds! The best sterile lube is useless if there are bacteria on the sounds. Since aluminum and platinum silicone are pretty resilient materials, I soak mine in hot water with dish soap and scrub them with a soft brush in order not to damage the smooth surface. After drying them on a paper towel, I sanitize them and store them away. Before play, I lay them out on a fresh paper towel, spray them with a sanitizer again, open the lube sachets, then put on a pair of gloves and as the last step, pick up the sounds for play.

Conclusion: Innovative violet wand electrode for a new, unique sensation.
