Mr S Nasty Rubber Stick & Nasty Lil‘ Rubber Paddle

Construction

As the name of these toys already states they are made out of rubber. While the scent is not as intense as on a piece of rubber clothing they have a faint, for most rubber fetishists stimulating tire scent. The stick is 46cm long, has a diameter of 1.9cm and weights approx. 150g. The main body of the paddle measures 18x8cm and has a 12×3.5cm long grip. The paddle is 1.2cm thick and weights 250g.

Both toys have a hole drilled through their rear end through which with leather string forms a strap.

Playing with it

A friend of mine from Chicago calls the Nasty Rubber Stick his “ouch stick” and right he is. Despite the considerably high weight for an impact toy, the little give in the material makes them stingy as hell! I recommend approaching the max. impact power very slowely cause the blast they deliver is intense and even a mild to medium continuous tapping can be agonizing. Naturally both toys color a sub very quickly. Even a medium blow will leave a red mark on the skin that will stay for some time. When you put real force into the single hits and concentrate on one area bruises will inevitably occur!

If you want to get a somewhat mild impact sensation out of these toys I recommend snapping them. Being very flexible the snap back not fast and thus the sensation is a mild thuddish sting.

Rubber conducts temperature very well. So as the cheeks of the sub begin to turn red and warm the paddle will get warmer. Of cause this also works in the other direction. For an interesting twist stick the paddle in a bucket of ice water. This effect isn’t as strong as with metals and due to begin frail when frozen don’t put the rubber toys into the freezer before a scene. For that I would recommend aluminum impact toys.

A big advantage of these toys is the material: When you play with different partners at a play party simple spray disinfection spray on the toys and rub it off. The rubber will take no damage from it. While you can use silicone oil or lube to make these toys shiny like rubber gear I would not recommend it. The silicone will make the toy slippy then hitting the sub and create a film on the impact area. So if you switch to another toy it will pick up the silicone lube.

Conslusion: Sever and low maintenance impact toy.

Construction

The basis of this toy is an approx. 8cm wide and 40cm long sector shaped piece of latigo leather. At both ends of this piece a long latigo leather belt strap is riveted that runs along the back side and reenters the front side through two holes rectangular holes. Between these holes on the top, bottom and onto the middle of the front a d-ring is riveted. The two straps are secured through a pair of roller buckles with locking posts behind them. Between the buckles and the locking posts there is an additional d-ring. The back of the this restraint is lined with soft and thick leather padding that is way longer than the latigo body. So when the joints are fettered using the straps they are surrounded by padding.

Finally a word on the build quality: Like all Fetters toys I have had the honor of playing with so far the manufacturing of this toy is flawless. The stitching is meticulous, the rivets are perfectly in place, the d-rings and straps feel solid and the toy has an overall feeling of high quality to it –if it wasn’t for the holes for the strap. When I first got this toy I was surprised that there you could see foam at the backside along the edges of the holes. Of cause the holes are surrounded by a seam so there is no chance that they padding of leather will fray or tear. Yet such a minor imperfection I usually would not make a deal out of stands out of such perfection. So I got in touch with the guys and Fetters and asked for the reason. It turns out to get the holes in just the right angle and position they are punched through once the padding is added to the body. There is no other way to do it but through my input they are looking at ways to make the holes maybe look a bit nicer. Since they gave good reason why the toy is the way it is I won’t hold the design against them. Just don’t be surprised if you see some padding foam. Everything is perfectly ok.

Playing with it

As the name of this toy says it is made to lock both hands together. It basically works like a wide, comfortable handcuff. In order to really keep the sub from freeing himself you have to lock the straps in place. For this the max hole in the belt you can use it the 7th. While this might sound quite a lot of length you are losing I have yet to find a wrist that would not fit in this setting.

Once attached to the sub the bondage possibilities are nearly endless. With a total of five d-rings you can spin elaborate webs in a bondage frame. Through the padding this restraint is very comfortable to be worn over extended periods of time, even in rather uncomfortable positions. I have used this restraint to tie the hands behind the back or above the head while playing with wax, e-stim and on the nipples of the sub. This created quite the reacting but despite moving heavily and pulling on the restraint he didn’t slip out of it or felt uncomfortable. Of cause, this design is not made for suspending the entire body weight from them! This comfort can also be used to recreate one of the most iconic bondage positions: The hogtie. Simply connect the handlock to a pair of ankle restraints and let the sub slowly get uncomfortable. I would recommend using the top d-ring for that because than the force pulls in direction of the hands which is more comfortable than a perpendicular force. You might have seen my pictures of the impro straitjacket restraint setup I posted on Tumblr. This handlock can replace the feet restrain which keeps the arm together in front of the belly.

When a sub is bound using these restraints I would recommend him to fold the hands. It makes the restraints more secure and more comfortable. And is a hot look! Attach the restraints to a collar using a padlock so he can’t free himself and he at least looks that he is worshipping you.

Despite the name of this toy you can also use it as an ankle restraint – if the ankles aren’t too big. There is some foot movement possible through turning the leg inside the lock. Yet a fettered sub won’t go anywhere too soon. Naturally you are using the far end of the strap for that so you won’t be able to use the locking post. But this should not stop you to incorporate this toy in a bondage setup, p.e. as a foot restraint for a hogtie or when tying the sub in a latin cross position keeping his feet neatly together.

Conslusion: Unique and well made piece of bondage gear.

This hood is another toy I discovered when visiting HML Fetish last December. I already had the Heavy Bondage Special in mind back than so the guys sent me this hood as a review sample earlier this year. Since making pictures of a hood without person to wear it, all pics in this article were made while I tried out the hood for the first time.

Construction

This HML Fetish Isolation Hood is made out of soft black high quality leather. Every part of the hood is lined with leather so it has quite some weight and smells intoxicatingly good off leather. The hood’s basic design is a double face hood. There are zippers in the front and in the back. The back zipper covers a lacing possibility with a leather strap which is used to bound the sub tightly into the hood. Behind the front zipper lies the face hood which has a cut out for the mouth and a piece of leather that covers the nasal wings. The eyes are closed on this hood. What sets this hood apart from other double face hoods are the thick pieces of padding over the ears.

I have gotten the size M which measures roughly 34cm by 32cm. Depending on your forehead circumference and the amount of hair that has to fit under the hood HML offers sizes from S to XL.

Playing with it

This hood is a true isolation hood. The padding with its pressing sensation against the head creates an intense bondage sensation. It muffles all sounds. If you add ear plugs or headphones with white noise the sub looses it hearing all along. Since there are no cut outs for the eyes most subs remains blind when the front zipper is opened. However, depending on the nose shape and size light and glimpses of the scene can get past the nose. I am already discussing with HML how to address this issue. Because if the sub can’t see anything this hood is great for humiliation play. Leave him stored as a leather gimp and only open the hood to use his mouth for licking, sucking or pissing into him. Of cause while stored he will inhale the intense scent of high quality leather.

One of the most interesting scenes I had with this hood was stripping the sub naked and just putting this hood on. If you take away the sight and hearing of a sub he will probably get more and more disorientate over time. I would not recommend letting the sub stand unguarded for an extended period of time wearing this hood. If the area the sub is standing is obstacle free you can of cause turn this intensifying feeling into a game: Walk around him, tell him to walk towards you, smacking him with a riding crop from various positions and see him struggle.

Finally a word on the material: Last week I talked about a neoprene hood and said that you can put a cotton pad with poppers under the front zipper. With this leather hood, I would not recommend it! Poppers is a rather aggressive substance and it will damage the leather. If you want to get your sub high on this substance stick a gas mask hose between the two front zipper’s runners.

Today’s toy of the Heavy Bondage Special is made out of soft neoprene. The soft side of the neoprene is always on the outside on this toy. I am reviewing the L/XL version that measures approx. 31cm by 29cm. While this may sound large please be advised that I have a somewhat average head size and this mask sits quite tightly and is a bit difficult to put on. While neoprene stretches and thus creates a great confinement sensation (see: next section) this hood is definitely not for quickly throw on, especially if the sub has much hair.

Over the entire front of the hood runs a zipper behind which a roughly anatomic mask with cut out for the eyes and mouth is sowed. On the back there runs a zipper up the half to make putting on the mask easier. In order to keep from hair getting caught in the zipper a piece of neoprene covers the zipper from the inside.

I am a bit indecisive what to say about the build quality. The seams of this toy are flawless. Again, they are not welded yet for a hood I don’t consider that important. Sadly the cutout of the double mask is not as precise as I would have hoped for. Luckily neoprene can quite easily be cut with a good pair of kitchen scissors yet this gets a deduction in the B-note. But what you should keep in mind: $50 for a double face hood is a bargain!

Playing with it

While last week’s reviewed toy was all about fitting loose this mask is the complete opposite. The neoprene fits tightly around the head, creating an intense feeling of bondage. If you add ear plugs they get firmly pushed into the sub’s ears canceling out noises very well and adding to the feeling of isolation. Once the front zipper is closed the sub is caught in darkness, inhaling the neoprene scent. This property makes this mask the ideal companion for the Neoprene sleepsack I reviewed some time ago because it creates total neoprene immersion/ gimpness. Another nice feature of neoprene is its waterproofness. This mask once served as a “storage tool” for a piss sub on a party: open the zipper if needed, close it once done. Since neoprene pulls together you get a bit of a cocksucker hood effect if you don’t open the zipper too much. So you can face fuck the sub while remaining anonymous. Of cause, it takes a bit of practice to find the sweet spot that the tension doesn’t open the zipper completely.

The amount of air that is let through the zipper is enough to allow for a good oxygen supply. Yet if you are into it, put a poppers drenched cotton ball behind the closed zipper and the intoxication is quite intense.

Construction

This hood is made out of six pieces of soft high quality black leather which helps to maintain the rough shape. It measures approx. 27cm by 33cm. The inside of the main body is lined with the same leather. The leather panel on the back side is not lined with leather but it is usually folded some way in order to seal the hood if the sub’s head is not gigantic. Besides this panel there are two eyelets through which a piece of leather string runs. You can use this string to close the hood tightly without constricting breathing. In the middle of the front of the hood there are two rivet-reinforced holes for breathing.

Playing with it

Despite appearing a simple piece of gear it is cleverly designed. The rather rigid part in the middle keeps the mask in place even when the sub breathes heavily so the hood doesn’t get sucked against the face of the sub. This is important for the main purpose I have been using this hood for: A beginner isolation hood. I tend to suffer from a bit of claustrophobia and thus stayed away from too intense hoods (until I saw myself forced to try them out for this website). As intimidating as this hood might look it fits loosely on the head without any pressure. So despite taking away the sense of sight (with most heads the breathing hole are next to the mouth so the noose blocks out most of the light) there is no sense of pressure that might freak a beginner out. Of cause the isolation feeling can easily be intensified with adding ear plugs or putting a Bishop Head Harness over the bag hood. If doing so pay attention that the breathing holes are not covered.

Even if they are not blocked, this mask has some form of breath play capabilities. When resting or being tied down, the sub can breathe easily. As soon as you start to talk or breath heavily to process pain there is too little air sucked in so a sense of breathlessness kicks in. I have never experienced that the oxygen supply was getting critical when using this hood yet it is something to watch when playing. If you are concerned about suffocation or usually play pretty heavy I guess the guys at Mr S can add another pair of breathing holes. Since the hood is made out of the high quality Mr S leather, when you are encapsulated in this hood every breath of air brings the intoxicating rich smell of leather to you.

Construction

The basis of this toy is a 13cm wide wrist restraint. It is made out of latigo leather onto which a rather firm and thin padding with soft leather cover is sowed. The restraint is closed with two latigo leather belts equipped with roller buckles. Onto the body a long strap of latigo leather is riveted. Through several rivets it has an h-shape with a welded D-ring on each vertical part and carrying a brushed stainless steel grabpole on the horizontal part. The leather is high quality and the manufacturing is spotless. Yet due to the materials used it takes a little bit longer to break them in. The restraints come with a standard steel carabiner which as always I recommend to switch for a climbing carabiner.

Playing with it

If this restraint lives up to its name depends on your play style. Through the stiff body the wrist is kept upright and well supported. Yet the padding is way firmer than on that restraint so I would not recommend the weight of a body resting on the lower bones of the hand. So a suspended sub would have to hold onto the grabpole which is essentially the stress bondage. Some testees found that scenario incredibly hot! Personally I prefer the 4 buckle style – at least for suspension.

In different play scenarios I really love these restraints. Because the D-rings are centered above the hand you can really stretch a sub into a spread eagle. Also in a hogtie the bounding force being an extension of the arm feels more natural than pulling perpendicular on the wrist like when using a D-ring attached to the side of a cuff style wrist restraint. This more natural flow of force is also good in many other play situations, p.e. when fettering a sub into a sling. I used these restraints into a fisting once and the sub used the bars to lift him up and really thrust his ass onto my fist.

Speaking of position these restraints are good to compensate for the shortcoming of most crosses in play spaces. There are good reasons to put a St.-Andrews-Cross into a play space yet for flogging in combination with cuff style restraints they are not ideal. The arms get stretched up leading to tensed up shoulder muscles. If you use these restraints the arms can hang easily so that the upper arms are in line with the shoulder leading to relaxed muscles.

The HML Fetish  Wide Bondage Belt comes in two varieties: One that is 11cm wide and one that is 17cm wide. While the narrower one only has one line of 7 welded stainless steel D-rings the wider one has two with a total of 14 D-rings. In order not to have metal touch the skin the belts that hold the D-rings in place are not riveted but sewed onto the belt. On one end of the belt there is a roller buckle, on the other side metal reinforced belt holes. The entire belt is made out of high quality soft leather. It comes in sizes from S to XXXL (!) so even a heavier built bear will find the right belt for him.

Playing with it

For this review HML Fetish provided me with the 17cm wide version because they claim that it can hold the weight of an entire body in suspension bondage. Naturally I was curious and a bit skeptical if just nylon thread and no rivets would be strong enough. I tried it out both as a top and as a sub and I have to admit: It takes a leap of faith to surrender the body just to this belt. Don’t get me wrong: As all HML Fetish leather it has a very high quality and robust feel. Yet I have learned in over 3 years of toy reviewing that rivets are the gold standard in durability and security. After multiple tests I have to say that to my own amazement the belt delivered what he promised: You can suspend even a heavier struggling body securely just using this belt. But please keep in mind that this form of suspension is an extreme form of stress bondage. Most of the time I used this belt for added support in a suspension setup with multiple restraints in which naturally he performed really well.

Apart from suspension bondage this belt is a great piece of bondage gear. With more D-rings than you would probably ever need you can really tie a person down. The wide belt sits comfortably on the entire hips and thus prevents movement of the lower torso really well when tied tightly. Of cause this belt is not limited to the waist; it works just as well around the chest.

The most surprising usage scenario was found by a member of my testee panel. He is new to rope bondage and thus struggles a bit with long ropes. He used this bondage belt as anchor point for shorter ropes to create elaborate rope bondage designs. This of cause also works with different restraints, I for example tried out different hogtie setups. If you are in a playful mood this belt really encourages you to be creative.

This is one of the toys Meo kindly sent me for the heavy bondage special. And since I finally got a chance to try the restraints out as a sub Easter Sunday at Quälgeist I am finally able to write the review.

Construction

The first impression is: They are massive! The body of these restraints is 170mm long. Its exterior is made out of stiff, sturdy leather. Usually I would complain about the cardboard like soulless leather quality but in this case the stiffness is a feature for giving the foot and ankle all the support they need. This outer shell is covered with padded soft high quality leather. While the padding at the instep is a bit thinner and firmer the “cushion” that wraps around the ankle is lavishly thick, almost like a pillow. It is designed that way that if the ankle is not too massive no metal of the many rivets that are use to hold the stiff body in shape even under large strain touches the skin. The padding layout leads to the comparatively robust foot being pushed into the “harder” area while the more fragile ankle is well protected yet without having too much give to allow the foot to slip out of the restraint when fettered properly. The fettering is done by two latgio leather straps with roller buckles. Their holes’ spacing is 18mm. While this is ok due to the thick padding which can take some of the pressure, a little bit finer spacing (15mm hole distance p.e.) would have been better to ensure safe and comfortable bondage. Onto each side of the body a 55mm wide and 220mm long latigo leather strap with a massive welded d-ring is riveted.

Playing with it

Putting these restraints on is no rocket science yet takes a bit of practice: Out the body around the foot, than adjust the leather covered padding. Next tighten the strap close to the foot securely, than the other one. If you don’t want to use the restraints for suspension, you are done now. For suspension purposes retighten both straps so they are just tight enough not to cut circulation. Otherwise the friction of the padding might be to low causing the foot to slip out of the restraints. I recommend putting the restraints on at the place where you want to fetter the sub. Unlike cuff style restraints it is a bit hard to walk wearing these restraints because of the straps onto which the d-rings are mounted.

Once put on you can there are different ways to use these restraints. For suspension I recommend using one carabineer for both d-rings because it causes less swinging. The restraints come with a d-rings but I would strongly advice you not to use it to suspend a sub’s weight from there but use a climbing carabineer instead. These restraints are also great for less spectacular bondage. Because the d-rings straps are an extension of the legs I found these restraints a massive improvement of cuff style ones when tying someone into a spread eagle. The force holding the leg in down is more evenly distributed and works directly against the movement a struggling subs shows. This characteristic and thick padding make these restraints ideal for hogties over extended periods of time. If you soften the d-rings straps so that they bend easily perpendicular to the restraints‘ body the make great bondage means for bastonado. The soles of the feet are nicely exposed and if you have a way to fetter the d-rings tightly they won’t move very much, allowing for precise hitting.

Through the thick padding and long straps, these restraints even fit massive ankles and feet. If you really take advantage of the entire strap length you can even fit feet with boots into them. I tried the restraints with rangers, engineer and motocycle boots and encountered no problem size wise. The only kinds of boots that were too large were motocross and skiing boots.

Finally a word of warning when using them to be suspended from your feet down: Every position facing downward is increasing the blood pressure towards the head. The steeper the angle, the higher it gets. Don’t remain in this position for too long because the fine veins in the head can’t handle the pressure too well. If you have high blood pressure or have used poppers do not get suspended with the head down. Also: The big muscles in the calves and thighs are needed to pump the blood through the body. After it has accumulated in the head and if it rushes back you can have a heart attack!

For a long time I have been looking for a bit more bondage orientated mitts. So I was very happy when Fetters was kind to provide me with these as a review sample.

Construction

The basis of this toy is a 24cm long mitt with a maximum diameter of 10cm thus it is large enough even for large hands (I tried up to a glove size 13). It is made out of and lined with soft leather that has an intoxicating rich smell. On the back and just over the top of the body runs a 4cm wide leather strap which holds the d-ring on top of the mitt in place. Around the opening runs another strap out of saddle leather. Onto this a roller buckle is mounted which can be locked with a locking pin. Besides closing the mitt around the wrist the strap also holds two welded d-rings in place.

Concluding a word on the build and material quality of this toy. I pride myself in trying to acquire only high quality toys or ones with a good value for money. So I do not really have “bad” toys in my collection and thus have pretty high standards when it comes to build and material quality. Yet when I unpacked this toy I was amazed how good it felt! Many other toys which are top notch yet this felt different, better, superior. I can’t really tell why I felt this way because from an objective point of view this toy is not better made than my many other toys from Mr S or Parus for example but it just stood out from other toys.

Playing with it

These mitts are designed to put the sub’s flat hand into them and then lock them onto his wrist. Depending onto the palm size the hand can move fairly freely inside. If you want to limit the movement let the sub form a fist and lock another wrist restraint between the fist and the locking strap of the mitts. Once fettered these mitts are great versatile bondage gear. They work just like normal high quality restraints. The d-rings can be used to tie the sub down, which is most fun in a spread eagle because with the top d-rings you can really stretch the sub’s arms. The bondage sensation is enhanced through the nature of being a mitt. He can’t grab anything so even if he wanted to he couldn’t free himself. This mindfuck can be even made more intense with locking the mitts bounding him inescapable into leather. While the d-rings are a good basis for creative and complex bondage setups, the strap the runs along the body to the top d-ring is a good anchor point for rope. A rope top friend of mine used it to run ropes through there which were tied to the thigh. In another setup he incorporated the mitts into a body harness creating an impromptu straight jacket. If you are like me and not good with ropes you can use a bondage harness, feet and upper arm restraints to also create an impromptu all access straight jacket substitute with these restraints.

Because the mitts are not padded there can be circulation problems if you tighten the strap too much. This happens even more often when you use the top d-ring for strictly restraining the sub’s arms above his head.

In recent years mitts in a BDSM context have been very much associated with pup play so I have to say that these mitts have quite limited puppy play capabilities. I would not recommend to use them as a paw substitute because putting the weight of your torso onto the top d-ring is quite uncomfortable. For this kind of play I recommend Fetters’ Brown Paw Puppy Mitts or their Padded Fist Mitts. A possible usage of these mitts for pup play is locking the top d-ring onto a collar so the pup has to walk on his elbows. In this case I would recommend elbow pads.

If you look for a less intense bondage experience, take a look as the Fetters Easy Mitts which only have one d-ring at the top and are closed with Velcro. If you want a more extreme experience the mitts I reviewed here check out their Full Sleeve Speedlace Bondage Mitts which can be laced up to the elbow.

This design was developed by HML following ideas of a customer who asked for a leather chastity device. While the customer was more than happy with the designs they guys at HML asked if I would give it a test ride to see if it really works. Always eager to try out new and innovative toy designs I was more than happy to comply.

Construction

The body of this toy is made out of two perpendicular 15mm wide leather straps. They are attached to a leather strap with four rivet reinforced holes and a locking post so the cage can be locked around even large junks. In the middle of the body straps there is a steel ring for stabilization. In sizes S/M it has a diameter of 30mm, in sizes L/XL it has 35mm. At the tip of the cage there is a small d-ring. The overall length for size S is approx. 60mm, for size L approx. 80mm.

All metal parts on this toy are made out of stainless steel so there is no risk of rust or allergy. It comes with a pad lock. Please note that due to having enough keyed alike pad locks I didn’t take the provided one with me. The one on the picture is from my own collection.

Playing with it

Putting this toy on is like every other chastity cage. You put your balls between the rear strap and the steel ring with the lower body strap working as a divider. Than place your dick inside the devices and lock the rear strap around your junk in a comfortable yet inescapable setting.

The big question of this review is: Does it work as a chastity device? Simple answer: No, it doesn’t! While it keeps a dick from getting hard to a certain extend from getting hard, he can easily be pulled through the two body straps. This is actually necessary if you want to piss because due to the design there is no piss hole. Being made out of leather the cage isn’t really designed to be worn for extended periods of time under cloths because the constant moisture will most likely damage the material.

So that leaves the question: Is it a bad toy? Not at all! In my opinion is it just named wrong. If you think of it less as a chastity device and more of a dick harness/ CBT device it makes a lot of sense. As a dick harness it can serve as a symbolic chastity device. Due to being made out of soft leather and being quite specious even people like me who have a hard time finding an off the rack chastity device will fit into it. So when going out to the bar as a naked/ or just harnessed slave this device is nifty so show that your dick is off limits. While a determined person can get access to the dick it takes some effort so this dick harness can work as an attention focus mean to keep the hands of the dick when the attention should be at the ass for example.

I spent a dark winter Sunday afternoon with a quite greedy sub to explore the CBT capabilities of this toy and discovered great fun! The initial use it is of cause to torture the well displayed balls. Through the way this cage is put on they are quite tightly tied of and separated so they can easily be targeted separately when hitting. The d-ring up front is ideal for creating quite uncomfortable predicaments. When attaching the cage to wrist restraints tied behind the back or to a pair of connected ankle restraints the sub’s movement is quite limited. Depending on how bruised the balls already are rapid movements can be painful. Since all metal parts are made out of stainless steel they conduct currency quite well. So it is only natural to turn the locking post and the metal ring into electrodes. But please be cautious! Since the mass and the contact surface is quite little the sensation will be quite intense and stingy.

Conclusion: Not really chastity cage but a great CBT toy and piece of leather gear craftsmanship.
