Seriously? A haul?!

Guys, you know, I love all of you with your crazy kinks and perversions. But the mails and messages I have getting the last couple of month worried me a bit: More than 15 people asked me if I could do a haul after one of my kinky shopping trips.

I have heard about hauls about half a year ago as a new great opportunity for targeting your audience with product placement on YouTube – when your target audience are young teenage girls who drool about some weird YouTube “stars”. But I would have never believed that butch leather men, hard perverts and crazy kinksters would want to see me rip open bags and rave about the products I have bought after strolling through BDSM boutiques.

I will be in Berlin for the BLF Easter Event and on Saturday of cause do some shopping (I need at least a new Mister B belt and probably some lube, impact play toys from MHurt and new rubber from RubAddiction after I have sold my old Blackstyle surf suit) but I am not sure if I could or should do a video afterwards. Just drop me a line or send me a tweet what you think about this weird request and I might end up doing a kinky haul.

Mister B Leather Covered Riding Crop

Mister B Padded Leather Covered Riding Crop

Mister B Padded Leather Covered Riding Crop

I came across this toy when I was looking up the link for last week’s review of the Mister B Spanking Ties. As you probably know I am a great lover of thuddy (and thus mostly padded) impact toys. So I was excited to see that Mister B added another padded toy to their collection.

This toy has the shape of a more traditional military style riding whip with one long padded slapper and a long grip. Due to the size is promises to sit comfortable in your boot shaft while walking around and long enough to hit both cheeks of your spankee at the same time. And with a price of 33,50€ it is a good deal for a padded impact toy.

Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas

An Example of the Numerous Drub Skin Motives

An Example of the Numerous Drub Skin Motives

It is just one week till Valentine’s Day and maybe there is a special kinky someone you want to show that he is REALLY special to you. This could be a Master, Sir or Top you want to give a little tribute for his time and patience or you might be a dominant yourself and have a sub who deserves a little reward. Or you just want to send a little treat to your kinky friends.

The most simple thing is sending your valentine a kinky card from Drubskin. You can either go directly to his website and order 5 high quality post cards with different motives for $20 or go to his Society6 store where you can get some of his motives as stationery cards (and a lot of other cool smut which are also great valentine’s gifts).

Gummi Baers in Shape of Naked Body Builders

Gummi Baers in Shape of Naked Body Builders

No valentine’s gift would be complete without some candy. Depending on what your valentine is into you can either get him a 5 piece assortment of chocolate anuses from Edible Anus for $38.95 or go a bag of naked gummi bear body builders from the Bärentreff for 3.50€ für 500g.

HML Leahter Pillow Cases

HML Leahter Pillow Cases

A really useful  gift is playroom decoration. Depending on your fetish you can either get leather pillow covers from HML in Bremen or latex covers from Demask in Dortmund. They come in a number of varieties also one side cloth, the other side latex so you can even discreetly kink up your living room.

The Map of Human Sexuality

The Map of Human Sexuality

If your playroom walls are a bit barren or you need are sometimes overwhelmed with ALL the play possibilities in your dungeon that you need some help, I recommend getting these two posters. The first one if the map of human sexuality which you can buy at Franklin Veaux’s store for $19.95 with an added little agenda at the bottom. If you are a sub simply place a pin at the stuff that you like, another one at the stuff that you want to try out and maybe a third one with your hard limits.

Uberkinky Periodic Table of Kink

Uberkinky Periodic Table of Kink

A different approach took Uberkinky: They created a periodic table of a large number of fetishes, playes, etc. and it costs £9.99. Due to having structured all terms this is probably a good poster for getting newbies into talking about and exploring their kinks.

While I already own the map of human sexuality, I still need to get the Uberkinky periodic table (just in case you are looking for a gift for my birthday next month;)). Speaking of gifts: Uberkinky currently has a give away for winning a £50 gift card to their store so if you bought the map you have another £40 to spend on toys if you win. I still hope that I win because than I can get myself the Oxballs Zap with 2 4mm electrodes I have been drooling about for a year or so.

Website House Keeping

First of all I want to wish all my readers a merry and peaceful Christmas. I hope you have some quite time to unwind and maybe get kinky.

Due to being in Berlin and right after that heading to my parents for Christmas there was no review last week and will not be one next week since I am on a kinky New Year’s Eve party. I have spent the time being in busses and waiting for the candle on the tree being lit with some long wanted improvements of my website. Most of them are subtle like the addition of a page title and sub title and the reorganization of the “Support ToyTorture” section. More visible is the right side column. I have cleaned up the archive and category section, added two gallery widgets for inspiration when exploring the website and finally implemented a word cloud with the vendors I am featuring. This is a feature I wanted to implement for a long time but never found the time for the busy work. But now it is done and you can finally filter the posts by your favorite kinky store. This word cloud came with a bit of a surprise for me. I always had the feeling that the largest number of posts would feature McHurt or Mr S but it turned out to be Mister B.

Speaking of vendors two days ago I joined the affiliate program of Regulation. I hope to soon get my hands of some of their gear and review it for you.

Last but not least instead of a review my Christmas treat for you is a Buyer’s Guide to Pup Play. I wrote it mainly to show novices what kind of gear is out there but maybe even an experienced player can find some interesting new gear and toys in the article.

Christmas Gift Tip 4 – Give Generously

As every year the last Sunday before Christmas is reserved for some last minute gift ideas. While the last year I focused on easily to get items I want to put the focus on organizations that make our community better. They are working hard to improve our live so they deserve our attention, time and money. The selection is highly subjective; there are numerous others out there so take these just as suggestions and donate for whichever cause you find fitting.

Since its foundation in 1991 the Leather Archives and Museum has been one of the if not the premiere institution to collect, preserve and research the history of our community. If it wasn’t for this institution a lot of important artifacts would have been lost forever. By donating to this cause you are not only preserving our history for generations to come but through research gives our history and culture social recognition and legitimation through scientific research. Besides becoming a member they offer a small selection of branded leather related items in their shop.

Mr. Friendly’s goal is it to reduce the stigma HIV still has in our community. The volunteers are there to talk about HIV to lower bounderies and abolish wrong stereotypes, encourage people to get tested and generally try to improve the lives of people who are HIV positive and the people living together with them. You can either support them by donating directly or buying something from their store.

I guess nearly every read of my website has heard of the NoSafeword Show. Produced in Seattle by a happy bunch of perverts in the studio/ playroom it has been on the air for nearly two years now. Each week they are producing a high quality podcast bringing serious information on diverse topics that matter to every kinkster in an entertaining way. Like my website they finance their website mostly through their own money and being a downloadable podcast their traffic is way higher than mine. So donating to their projects keeps a valuable source of knowledge and lightheartedness even in serious times available for everybody in the community for free.

Last but not least: Traditionally nearly every leather club has a charity supporting community members with financial needs like medical bills.

If you want to support not a specifically kinky organization there are several worthy causes out there. First of all there is the It Gets Better project. It was started out by Dan Savage telling young gay people struggling with being gay in a what seems (and sometimes still is) hostile environment telling them that it is actually getting better of being a gay person. While It Gets Better has become an international campaign there are almost certainly local projects you can support if you want to see direct impact in your community: Support for gay homeless, living quarters for youth who have been kicked out of their parent’s house, a switch board for gay people with problems. Especially for these projects, if you can’t give money, give them some of your time next year and volunteer to make our community a better place.

If you need some physical gift for someone else after all, get them an IKEA gift certificate. I am currently working on an article about toy storage which will feature quite some IKEA items.

Why I haven’t reviewed products from Sinvention, Fetters or Regulation yet

In the last couple of month I have been getting quite some messages asking me why I feature only products from a limited selection of manufacturers (most of my toys comes from Mr S, Mister B, SlingKing and McHurt) and thus why I don’t review products from this manufacturer or why I have ignored that one for my desiderate section (Which has gotten a bit neglected). There are a number of reasons out there and because they partly play a role why today’s Christmas gift tip nearly came without pictures I decided to elaborate them:

  1.  Toy Selection Pattern
Against widely spread believes I buy most of my toys myself. I am thankful to Mister B, HML and UberKink who sometimes provide me with toys to review but the majority of my toys from my own money. When it comes to getting a new toy I am fantasy driving. Most of the time I have a specific scene or sensation in mind I want to create and for which I am lacking the right “tool”. So if I have gotten a toy for a specific sensation it is unlikely I am going to by one from another manufacturer just to compare them. Also the collection reflects my personal play style and my fantasies and fears.
  2. Money
This leads to the next issue: Money. I am still a student currently without a job so my toy budget is rather limited. Next to toy categories I am currently not covering at all – like hoods or breath play – especially when it comes to bondage and impact toys I know that there slight variations of toys I already own out there which for my intention of having just the right toy for the right sensation at hand (or just for the convenience of having a second or third restraint set) would be great to have. But with my limited budget I simply can’t afford the luxury to have a deep AND wide selection of toys. So for the moment I am going for wide in the field that interests me and neglect the rest. And even with stuff that has become interesting lately like some hoods they simply are out of my budget for the moment.
  3. Shopping Style
Due to the two above factors my purchasing process is rather sophisticated: When I have a fantasy I start looking at websites and from what I know of material and design properties choose a relevance set of toys that might deliver the desired sensation and fit my budget. Once the relevance set is done I go out and take a look at the toys I consider and try them out; I rarely purchase toys online. This is of cause difficult with stores being based in London, Atlanta or Canada.
  4. Review Process
I have been getting messages asking why I don’t write about toys that have been used on me in scenes. When I gather notes for a review I am not going under in the scene. I am focusing on how the toy performs, how the sensation alters when used differently, etc. As much as I enjoy the reviewing scenes they are not as emotionally intense as normal ones and usually don’t get the top what he wants from me as a sub. So I stage “review” scenes where I interview the tops and subs afterwards. Of cause I do have an opinion on a toy used on me after a scene. For example I certainly can say something about the Padded Locking restraints from Mr S (I like them a lot) but that opinion is too indifferent for a review. So even though I have experienced toys from Sinvenstion, Fetters and Regulation (these are the three manufacturer I get the most questions about reviews for) I can’t say more than “I liked this and disliked that in that specific scene.”
  5. Copyright Issues
This isn’t an issue for reviews but for desiderates. For the desiderate section I am posting pictures from the manufacturer/ vendor on my website and I have to obtain the right to do so from the current copyright holder! In the last two years I have approached over three dozen web shops and manufacturer several times and only got the permission from a handful to use their material. Most of them didn’t answer at all even so I stopped bothering them.
Please note that some of the manufacturers named here have given me the permission to use their material for my website.

All of these factors can of cause lead to the impression that I am favoring certain manufacturers. This is partly true and as much I love the ones I am currently featuring I would much rather present a broader spectrum of toys and manufacturers to the community. So in the meantime while I am trying to win the lottery and fill my dream dungeon with all the dream toys, if you want to see a specific toy reviewed or just want to support my side by sending me toys, here is a list of toys that I am interested in but are for various reasons not on my purchasing list:

Sinvenstion – Arm Immobilizer Splints

Fetters – Calf to Thigh Restraint

Regulation – Leather Bag Hood

Regulation – Chest Binder

Mister B – Closed Leather Face Mask

Mister B – Iron Whips Wocen Cat 8×4 Long

Mr S – Asylum Muzzle

Parus Leather – Restraints No. 2106 & No. 2211

HML – Wide Bondage Belt

ErosTek – ET302R

Christmas Gift Tip 3 – Tom of Finland

Tom of Finland is one of the artists forming the image of the leather fetish in the early years of the scene after World War II. Nearly anybody in the scene has at least seen a few of his iconic drawings and can instantly recognize their style. And while they might not meet everyone’s taste they are still an important part of our history.

In order to preserve his work Touko Laaksonen and Durk Dehner established the Tom of Finland Foundation in 1984 (which purpose was later extended to collect and thus safe erotic art from other artists). Since then the foundation has carefully curated the catalogue and last year teamed up with the Finish textile company Finlayson to create a range of products bearing the works of Tom of Finland. Their current range ranges from bed sheets over pillow and duvet covers to towels large enough to take to your favorite bath house (or normal sauna to show your leather pride there).

Tom of Finland XXL by Taschen

Tom of Finland XXL by Taschen

If you want a more traditional gift I would recommend the Tom of Finland XXL book from Taschen. It is a BIG book, looks great on (a not too small) coffee table and through its sheer size gives the works enough space to take full effect. It features over 1.000 works, some of them published for the first time. Strolling through the book shows how Tom of Finland’s style and the idealized type in the scene developed over four decades. So this is the right gift for every kinky art aficionado, Tom of Finland fan or person interested in how the gay leather scene changed between its coming into existence to the late 1980s.

Note: I sadly couldn’t obtain the copyright of the product pictures so I kindly ask to click on the provided links to see the products.

Christmas Gift Tip 2: Bigger is Better

One man’s pain is another man’s pleasure. Or in this case: One man’s playroom decoration is another man’s favorite toy.

Being in marketing I know that one that especially clothes for women are sold with the argument “just buy something that doesn’t fit and make it your goal to lose enough weight to get into it.” So today’s tips are for a number of different groups: For the people looking already for a new year resolution to train their ass or balls so much that by the end of next year they can take one of the toys. For the experienced size connoisseur who looks for something new to play with. And for the people who want to add a striking piece to their playroom which sparks a conversation and maybe an interesting session.

I have been asked quite often if I knew an ass lock that is truly stuffing and comfortable to wear. The only one on the market I know off is the Keepburning Hoolalass. They have a number of attachments but the Hydro with a diameter of 70mm should be enough to even bring a greed hole pleasure when walking around wearing it.

Hoolalass Black 12,90€

I might be doing a review of the Hoolalass system in the next year if I can get my hands on one. So if you are interested to be kept updated follow me on Twitter and check my website on a regular basis.

Also from the guys of Keepburning comes the Finland Boll. With a diameter of nearly 11cm at the glans it is one of the largest dildos with a natural look. Sold either in classic black, flesh color or blue it is a great gift for any fistee working at home to finally get the second fist up his ass.

Nearly as big but a whopping half kilogram heavier is the Estim Decimator plug. As you know I really love the design of their premium electrodes. And this is just the right one if you want to enjoy the feeling of getting fucked by electricity even after a heavy fisting scene – or if you like me are just looking for a stylish, kinky paper weight/ desk ornament.

Decimator

E-Stim Decimater £325

Another thing I like are stretched and bouncy balls. I love my ball stretcher because it fits my somewhat middle of the road balls just right. But if you are a fan of low hangers this ball stretcher from Mister B is the one to get. It stretchers your balls 12cm and with it weight of over 2kg the swing momentum of this stainless steel toy must be incredible somewhere between delightful agony and excruciating ecstasy.

If you love low hangers but are not quite there yet, getting the Mandax Ultimate Ball Stretching System from Mister B is the way to approach your project for 2015. The system has three adjustable bars which will stretch your balls up to 18cm. A nice added feature is the it is equipped with a 2mm and a 4mm socket to attach to an electro box. It is only a monopole but with a Y-adapter and something from E-Stim systems premium range, you will have loads of fun.

Christmas Gift Tip 1: Kinky Chocolate

Following the last two years tradition for the next four Sundays I am going to publish some Christmas Gift Tips for the kinkster who believes that he has everything.

Some of you might remember the sculpture of a big green inflatable buttplug called “Christmas Tree” put up at Place Verdome in Paris in October by artist Paul McCarthy. Sadly this piece of art was soon destroyed by a humorless and dull person. As a form of revenge Paul McCarthy opend up an exhibition at Monnaie de Paris called “Chocolate Factory”.
