Unboxing the E-Stim Systems Pebble

When it comes to e-stim the most reader questions are actually about power boxes. There are so many different ones out there it is hard to figure out which it the right one for you. So ever since E-Stim Systems launched their new mid-range Pebble a stream of questions about it kept coming in. E-Stim Systems was kind enough to send me one of their new power boxes and I will review it later this year.

First let me show you what is stored inside the nifty black carrying case it comes in.

The most important part is the power box itself. It measures roughly 116x77x38mm and has convex sides so it fits and rests well inside a hand. The controls are symmetrically laid out: On top there are three rotary controls. The left and right for intensity of the corresponding channel and the one in the middle to modify the sensation of the selected program. Below them are two soft touch buttons to shift through the 9 programs. Next to them on the right is a list of the 9 possible channels with a blue LED next to it which is on when the channel is selected.

The Battery every Pebble comes with

The Pebble can only be powered by battery and is comes with a Duracel Industrial 9V battery which is actually my choice of batteries to power my e-stim boxes.

After the ToyTorture’s Top 10 Toys miniseries a common topic in reader questions were: Don’t you have all the toys you want? And what would be the toys you would like to have? And while yes, I do have a lot of toys and the list of toys I would like to add to my collection and play repertoire is getting shorter, there are still some I really would like to own. This new mini series is really going to be mini (because it will end with my summer vacation next week) and not going to be exhausting, it will give you some ideas I feel my playroom is missing until I can call it complete.

One of the things most people find surprising when they enter my playroom is the fact that there is not a single piece of rope there. I have gotten shoe laces for CBT, tension belt, Velcro straps, belts,  carabineers  and many other bondage hardware to create elaborate bondage setups out of the plethora of leather restraints at hand. But not a single length of rope. That has two reasons: I am quite clumsy and quite impatient. So I am lacking the kind of skills and time required to put a person in a similar bondage I could do with three restraints and some clips. This is me talking as a kinky sub who sometimes top.

But as a toy tester I know that rope is one of the most essential, most accessible and most affordable kind of toy out there; many kinkster start out their journey into BDSM with it. Because of that I once wrote an article about rope. Yet still I get many messages each month asking which rope to buy and where to buy it. Most kink store sell un-branded rope so it is hard to make a suggestion. An exception to this rule is rope by Twisted Monk which is special for many reasons. Founded almost 15 years ago he made it his mission to provide the scene with quality rope out of established and sometimes exotic materials (as an e-stim enthusiast I really want to try his conductive rope!) in almost all colors of the most common hankies. With small but important and useful extras like very thorough whipping at the end or middle marks you can tell the ropes are made by an experienced and enthusiastic player himself. Rope bondage institutions like Midori or Shay and Stefano trust Twisted Monk products for their classes which tells its own story about the quality.

Though many things speak for rope from Twisted Monk I sadly had not had the chance to play with it myself. A couple of months ago Regulation added them to their store which should improve purchaseability in Europe. Getting rope from Twisted Monk would be one of the many instance where getting a toy for reviewing challenges me as a kinkster to explore new forms of play and finally put the my books on rope bondage to good use.

The Dr. Sado Silicone Sounds

Construction

The sounds are made out of black high quality silicone. They are very flexible, quite soft and have a smooth surface without a seam you sometimes see on silicone anal toys for example. Their front is a bit tapered for easy insertion. At the end there is a cube shaped appendix which keep the sound from slipping in all the way and make controlling the toy a little bit more easy even with lubey fingers. The total lengths of the sounds are 350mm and are available in diameters from 3.5mm to 11.5mm. The larger the diameter the larger the cube at the end so the insertable length decreases a bit with raising diameter.

These sounds are perfect for intense sounding scenes. The length in combination with slightly squishy material allows playing with parts of the urethra a metal sound could never reach. The friction and stretching sensation deeper inside than any metal sound can reach alone is interesting enough for experienced sounders. Since the silicone sounds are a little bit more ridged and through the cube at the end more easily controllable than a catheter tube they are good toys to prepare a novice for this kind of play. Once deep inside the sounds are long and flexible enough to play with the bladder’s sphincter and once penetrated with the inner side of the prostate. Since a sterile environment is paramount when fisting (see last paragraph) I would not recommend stimulating the prostate on both sides with a sound and a finger up the ass at the same time. Despite being made out of super smooth silicone the surface is still a bit “dull” and will never be as smooth as metal so I recommend using more lube than usually.

For choosing the right sound size two things should be considered: A too thin sound will be “spikey” and a little bit more difficult to insert; a too thick one won’t fit because the urethra has not been pre-stretched far enough. I have gotten three sounds with the diameter of 4.5mm, 5.5mm and 7.5mm which cover the most common diameters for sounding.

I would not recommend these sounds for beginners, especially when sounding on your one instead of getting sounded. When having lubey fingers through their length they are a bit hard to handle at times. Since they are light and a bit soft they have to be pushed in actively, requiring the sub to know the difference between a “good” and a “bad” stretching pain. For beginners I recommend stainless steel sounds. Simply put them into the tip of the dick until the first sphincter and let the weight of the sound do the work of gradually sinking in.

One of the most important things when it comes to sounding is sterilization. Failing to play with sterile toys and lube and in an unclean environment can lead to nasty infections! Since these sounds are made out of silicone flaming them is not an option. To be absolutely after using them, wash them carefully with dish soap and then put them into boiling water for 10 minutes. Store them carefully apart from each other and not touching other toys in a clean environment to prevent plasticizers from harming the silicone. Right before I recommend cleaning them again. Silicone attracts dust as almost nothing else and dust doesn’t belong in a urethra! After washing them just with water and drying them, they should be sprayed with a skin-friendly sanitizer and wipe it off afterwards using a paper towel. For inserting them into a urethra use sterile lube. Friends of mine have been very satisfied with Meo’s VERYDEEP sterile lube. However since I am overly cautious, I do not trust sterile lube once opened, so for every scene I use a new sachet of sterile lube you can buy in pharmacies. I would only recommend using water-based lube and thus relube regularly during a long scene. Silicone lube will break down the material of the silicone sounds. Furthermore the ingredients of medical water-based lube are designed to be absorbed and processed by the human body so after some time there will be no lube left in the urethra unlike silicone lube which can linger than until everything has been pissed out.

Conclusion: Long and flexible sounds for intense play of sounding pros.

ElectraStim SensaVox Unboxing

The carrying case in which the ElectaStim SensaVox comes.

After three E-Stim Specials there stream of questions which box is good doesn’t stop. So one box after another I am trying to still your thirst of opinion on the basis of every good e-stim scene. As a nice surprise after a very stressful week at work I got the ElectraStim SensaVox in the mail yesterday.

It is their top of the line power box. So let’s see what can be found in the black, foam padded plastic case which has a little storage compartment for leads and toys, a battery and the jacket-adapter.

The SensaVox itself measures 143x78x33mm and weights 200g without a battery. On the top left there is the power soft-touch button, in the middle the rotary control to modify the programs and on the top right the boost button. Below them symmetrically laid out are the rotary controls for the two channels and the display for the intensity setting. Right in the middle of the box the are the two soft-touch buttons for the program selection and the display for the current program is between them.

If you don’t have the manual with you and are in doubt there is a stick on the back of the box with a program list and a guide for which cable the different sockets around the box are.

The HML Bondage Harness

A couple of decades when most people were into BDSM, they were into all three pair of the acronym: Bondage & Discipline, Dominance & Submission and Sadism & Masochism. People like me who just enjoy play (back than called “work”) without any aspect of being disciplined or submissive were the minority. But what is more important for me are the D-rings: With one each on the shoulder and on the side on the level of the chest and the thigh the harness is an effective tool to bound a sub to a bed or just attach restraints when standing or walking in a bar. The many different fettering possibilities inspired me to combine a bunch of other restraints into a straitjacket-like bondage setup.

Blindfolds are one of the most essential pieces of bondage gear. Taking away the ability t see they not only render the sub helpless even without other restraints but by sharpening other senses make all sensations more intense and introduces the element of surprise into the scene. So robbing the sub off his sight is a common element in scenes. But finding a good blindfold is hard: Most of the thickly padded ones put pressure on the eyes making them uncomfortable to wear over extended periods of time; the more comfortable tend to let light or even glimpses of the surrounding through. But it also has an unintended practical aspect: The pockets catch tears. So this blindfold quickly became a very personal item and piece of memorabilia. The Doxy Die Cast House in its Case

When I started planning this series a few months ago it was clear that I had to include massagers. In mid-June I got my Doxy Die Cast and it instantly deserved this place in the list.

The Doxy is the most powerful massager I have come across so far; it is even more powerful than the original Hitachi Wand. With adjustable power setting it is good for edging – and even better for milking, especially with a head attachment. When I haven’t had a good scene in a long time, I just take out the Doxy and some e-stim and manage mind-blowing orgasm without a top (though it sadly can’t simulate the surrendering of control to a dom). The Fetters Ball Gag

Construction

The ball is made out of a hard silicone and has a diameter of 48mm. It is connected to the leather straps through two solid tubes which have a diameter of 13mm and a length of 23mm. They end in two rectangular pieces which are riveted onto the leather straps. They are made out of high-quality bridle leather and have burnished and dyed edges. Through a roller buckle the length can be adjusted between 45cm and 60cm.

Playing with the Fetters Ball Gag

Through the reviewing process of gags I found two types of gag users which I like to call bounds and biters. The bounds enjoy the feeling of something solid in their mouth. They want the feeling of their mouth being in bondage and thus a too soft material isn’t doing the trick. Biters on the other hand have a more practical approach: They enjoy the functional value of a gag (like silencing or drooling) but when they want to sink their teeth into something that gives in. This gag is definitely for the bounds, keeping the mouth open.

Through its size the ball encourages a lot of drooling. Since the rather thin, small tubes sit in the corners of the mouth rather than a leather strap like on other ball gags, this gag is very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. The diameter is on the larger end of the ball gag spectrum so especially for people with a smaller mouth having the ball gag put into their mouth is a bit of “stress” bondage. The strap is unusually long for a gag so it fits even subs with a large head or with a thick, open mouth hood fettered onto the head.

Since the ball is made out of silicone it is easy to clean and disinfect which is necessary between scenes because it will be exposed to large amounts of saliva. After play simply wipe the ball dry and spray it with your favorite sanitizer. Don’t forget to wash the ball afterwards to clean off sanitizer residue; it is something you do not want in your sub’s mouth.

The Oxballs Nuttsling

Like four days ago I am talking not about one but three toys today: The Oxballs Nuttsling, the Unit X Stretch and the Trough. All three toys stretch the balls though all in slightly different ways.

These toys are a good example that some of the simplest toys are some of the best. Simply put them around your balls (well, it does take some practice but once mastered it is really a matter of seconds) and enjoy the fun balls being stretched. Water on a Mattress Cover from Sheets of San Francisco

Technically the products from Sheets of San Francisco are neither toys nor playroom furniture so one might think they do not belong in this series. Yet almost none of the things I have acquired and reviewed influenced the way I play more than these sheets.

In general BDSM tends to be a more or less messy thing: Putting a rubber gimp into strict bondage does not come without sweat leaking, heavy fisting requires loads of lube which might leak out of a sloppy ass – not to talk about the bursts of piss when the bladder gets stimulated -, wax and gunge play is an entire level of mess potential on its own, just to name a few. Since most people don’t have a playroom – let alone one with a drain in the floor – this mess happens in places where it is not convenient. For this reason play sheets out of various materials are made. But each material comes with its drawbacks: Rubber and neoprene needs extensive care and dissolve when exposed to oil-based lube, vinyl/PVC tears easily and tarps are not really sexy. All of them are hard to clean and dry afterwards.

Despite having lived in a dorm with just a room to myself and my bed being my play area all the shortcomings – especially the cleaning and drying one – kept me from getting a play sheet – until Sheets of San Francisco came along. Their sheets feel soft like cotton so they are comfortable, they look like unpolished rubber, are resistant towards any kind of lube and wax, 100% water-proof, sturdy and fitted. So you don’t have to worry about anything – especially the sheets moving, exposing the surface below them – even when playing heavily on them. But the biggest advantage for me is the cleaning: After having played, carefully lift the sheet in all four corners so all liquids gather in the middle and simply throw it into the washing machine. It comes out almost dry and hanging it out to dry it almost looks like a cotton sheet so it is unsuspicious. This easiness makes these sheets so great. It allowed me to focus on the play and kept the worries about soiling and cleaning at bay which dramatically increased the play pleasure.
