Chastity Experiment Day 3: On not being lazy

As said on Monday like every summer I am on vacation visiting my parents. I usually take at least 1 ½ weeks to unwind, take advantage of the scenery to take review pictures outside and just be lazy. That laziness includes not going to the gym and not shaving my body hair – except I have a date (as if that is every going to happen here, but that is a different story). However, when wearing a chastity cage, at least the latter laziness is not advisable. Yesterday and today I caught pubic hair in several small gaps and probably have pulled some out involuntarily. The unexpected pain of getting the sub pubic hair pulled on might be a desirable effect for a top, but I find the stingy pain annoying when taking a walk. Lucky me I am my own key holder so I unlocked myself and shaved. I wonder how long my pubes have to grow again until the hair length becomes a problem again.

I had problems accessing my WordPress so I can only publish yesterday’s entry today.

When my friend convinced/ lured/ pressures me into this experiment the nights were the thing I was most afraid off. While testing the cage I wore it during the day for extended periods of time. When it started to feel a bit uncomfortable I could adjust the device which obviously is not possible when I am sleeping. So would I not be able to sleep because I would wake up every few hours to fiddle with the cage? The fear was reasonable because I am very active while sleeping. Tossing and turning is a sign for a good night’s sleep. How would having a chunky piece of metal hanging between my legs and somewhat pulling on my balls affect that? Surprisingly: Not very much.

Of cause having something attached to your body feels a bit weird and unusual. When I was lying in bed, lights out and slowly dozing off the thought of not being able to jerk off was very present in my mind but not as discomforting as expected. Also due to the moving momentum of the heavy metal there was a pleasant pulling sensation on my balls every time I turned. Luckily I didn’t wake up during the night due to feeling uncomfortable. However, waking up was a bit uncomfortable. On the edge between sleeping and waking I roll around in my bed, resting in various positions, also on my belly. In this position the steel is pushed into the groin which is uncomfortable.

Luckily I rarely get morning wood and haven’t had a boner yet so the cage’s efficiency has yet to be tested.

As written in last week’s review I have given the Bon4 Steel Chastity Cage a thorough testing like every toy I review. But I have worn the device on and off because I had too much other stuff on my mind at the end of the semester. Now I am at my parent’s on vacation and dare to venture into a week of chastity.

After showing this morning I took the pouch with the cage and rings and tried out which ring would fit me best. I started out with the 51mm ring. Being inexperienced it felt the most comfortable. However while just walking a short distance to the post office, I felt like the cage would fall off so I tried the 47mm and 44mm rings. While I am writing this I am wearing the 44mm ring but am not sure if it isn’t too tight for long term. Let’s see how I feel after the first night.

I somehow anticipated that finding the right ring size would be the most difficult task. The ring has to be tight enough to hold the cage in place and make it inescapable yet wide enough to be comfortable to be worn 24/7 and more important to allow enough circulation to the genitals. With 4 rings provided and 2 additional rings available for purchase I guess Bon4 has a size for most dicks out there. But with the rings being made out of metal in a rather simple design it should be easy to have ring made at a local black smith to fit the individual physic of a potential chastity sub.

Chastity is one of the big things in (gay) BDSM. Handing over the control of one’s dick and orgasms to a top is one of the biggest sacrifices a sub can do without interfering too much with his day to day schedule. This is what makes chastity devices so intriguing.

Despite its popularity I haven’t done a chastity device review yet. I owned two: A CB6000 and a cheap steel one. The first was too small for my soft dick, the second had too sharp edges and without a proper and in-depth testing I am not writing reviews. So I was pleasantly surprised when Mister B sent me the new Bon4 Steel Chastity Cage size Regular to review. And I was more pleasantly surprised when I found out that it actually fits my soft dick.

Design

The construction of this chastity device is fairly standard besides its being made out of brushed stainless steel. There is a cage which is connected to a ring behind your balls which keeps it from falling off. The cage is approx. 8,5cm long with a diameter of 3,7cm for the shaft and approx. 5cm for the glans. Between the cage and the ring there are two pegs with 1,2cm length to keep both parts at a comfortable distance and adding up to a total usable length of 9,7cm. The chastity device comes with four rings with the following diameters: 39mm, 44mm, 47mm and 51mm. With this variety the device should fit most dicks. If you have a smaller one you can always take a look at the small version for 149€.

The device has a few unique properties due to the material. The rings have a hinge at the bottom which makes putting it on quite easily. I have also heard a lot of reports from friends who’s dicks broke plastic/ silicone chastity devices over time due to material fatigue. This is defiantly not going to happen with this device. The build quality of the toy I have gotten is superb but if there should be any rough or uncomfortable spaces the toy comes with a little sheet of fine sandpaper and tape to mend these spots. There is also a small lock in black bag the toy comes in.

It is kind of hard to write this section. The chastity cage isn’t really a toy, it is a control device made to be worn 24/7. With the high build quality and the material which will withstand moisture and physical stress the Bon4 Metal Chastity Cage is up to the challenge. But in the end more than even any piece of gear it has to fit perfectly to fulfill its purpose. A too loose ring and you can get out of it easily or it will simply fall off when walking. A too tight ring will make wearing it for a long time uncomfortable or can even cause damage to your genitals due to cut circulation. So even more than with other toys I urge you to try it out if it fits you. If you have problems with the ring sizes Bon4 offers addition ones with 36mm and 56mm diameter. The lock is quite a high quality one but still it is more a psychological barrier for the sub. A skilled lock pick will sooner and a desperate sub will later figure out how to open it with a pair of paperclips. For checkable security I recommend using numbered plastic locks.

One of the greatest problems with chastity cages is hygiene. Most devices only have small holes for pissing and some for water because materials like plastic doesn’t allow for bigger ones without compromising stability. Yet again stainless steel doesn’t have this problem so the case basically consists out of holes with some beams which makes hygiene not problem. You simply shower wearing the cages and you are all set. The material also opens the door for some torture possibilities. Since metal picks up temperature quite easily most subs fund mild ice and fire play… interesting. And I probably don’t need to tell you that steel is conductive. Of cause there is a downside: The metal makes the cage way heavier than the plastic ones. My testees had very different opinions on that topic: Some found it uncomfortable, some loved the constant pull and movement on the balls.

Afterthought

This review covers only the “technical” aspects of the Bon4 Metal chastity cage. Chastity never has quite been my kink, partly because I was frustrated with the cages not fitting my dick. I also didn’t find the thought of handing control of my dick over to a top tempting. For this review I have worn the device on and off for a couple of days and was genuinely impressed how much I liked it. Yet a true long term test has yet to be done. A top friend of mine has challenged me to a week of chastity which will begin this Sunday. You can expect a small blog entry every day about my experiences and problems with the cage. But a week doesn’t say much about true long term usability. I have been looking for a sub to be locked up for quite some time and as soon as I have found one and put into the device for an extended period of time there will be a follow-up review.

I have gotten this toy from Mister B in order to review it. It was a nice reminder to review this kind of toy because I love it for its many possibilities to torture someone.

The construction of this „clamps“ (due to lack of a better word I will just call this toy a clamp) is quite simple: two approx. 23 cm long varnished black steel sticks are glued parallel inside black rubber balls on both ends. There are also two rubber rings which slide on the steel sticks. It lays in the nature of the length and sturdiness of the sticks that toy can’t be worn tight fitting under gear.

I have seen versions of this toy made with wooden sticks but I highly recommend the steel version because it can be easily sanitizes. It is also noteworthy that Mister B sells them in pairs; sometimes you only get one which might be enough depending on your usage…

Playing with it

… and you can use it on a number of different body areas. The Thai Pain Stick is most commonly used as a nipple toy. You simply pull the two sticks apart and put the nipple between them. This can be a bit tricky because you can only pull the sticks approx. 1 cm apart which might be too little for a soft nipple. I recommend stimulating the nipple until it is a bit firmer by using your hands, sucking on them or using suction cups before trying to put the Thai Pain Sticks on. Another possible problem is that you can only easily put them on the tip of the nipple. The sticks are not too firm but the sensation can be too hard for a newbie. But if you have gotten the endorphins flowing by a little finger foreplay it should be ok.

Once they are in place I love this toy for it many play possibilities. The first thing you can do is increasing the pressure by pushing the movable rings closer together. Because the sticks are relatively long the pain intensity can be dosed quite fine without having to fear that it will fall off, unlike clamps where you have to i crease the pressure with a screw. Another way to remind the sub of the clamps once he got used to them is turning them. When turning the, there is a risk that the nipple will slip through the sticks which is very painful. But that might be just the thing you were going for…

The biggest advantage of the Thai Pain Sticks is that you can still access the nipple while the clamp is in play. There are infinite possibilities to add stimulation. One thing I love to do is playing with temperature. Either rub an ice cube over the tip of the nipple or just drop wax on that small area. The wax sensation is even stronger when you put the sticks into the freezer for 10 minutes before applying them… If you want to get really nasty, put safe irritants like bee venom salve on the nipple or torment it with a pin wheel. If you pulled the nipple between the sticks a bit further you can even add a second clamp onto them for added agony.

Of cause you are not limited to the nipple when playing. The clamp can be put anywhere where you can pinch enough skin. My favorite other areas are the fore skin, the balls (be careful not to get a seminal duct between the sticks!), ear lobes and the lips and tongue. The pain sensation on these areas is not so intense but you can make a fun game: Put them on both lips and tell the sub that they must not touch and then start playing. If he wiggles too much they will enviably touch and your sub has earned a punishment.

Beyond the clamp properties I have found the pain sticks useful for a bit of impact play. Especially the balls on the end can sting a bit when snapped again the skin. Because they are so small this toy is ideal for applying pain to small areas like the glans or the nipples.

The sleep sack is made out of charcoal colored 2,2mm thick neoprene. The color sparked some debate under my testees: some liked the modern, sleek accent to their playroom, others said that the non-black color broke the all-black scheme of their playroom. I like the color but have to admit: despite the subtle tone it does „pop“ in an all black environment. The neoprene pieces are sewed together by sturdy black threat in cross-stitching. Unlike neoprene gear made for water sports the seams are not welded so they are not waterproof. Same applies to the zipper. There are three of them: one from YKK from the neck to mid-chest for easy entry, one above the dick and one above the ass from unknown manufacturers. Both these zippers have a small piece of neoprene covering the zipper from the inside so neither skin nor hair gets caught. Inside the bag there are sleeves for the arms which are closed on the end so the sub can’t touch himself. Around the neck hole there is a soft collar made out of black cloth.

Size wise this sleep sack is a bit tricky: I have got the XL version which is made for people between 176cm and 186cm height, a 112cm to 117cm chest and a 89cm to 97cm waist. I am 1,89m tall and am neither especially beefy nor chubby and still I just barely fit in it. Because XL is the largest size (but they go down to a tiny S) the person you want to put into it shouldn’t be too large.

A snug tight fit comes through the stretchiness as a material property of neoprene. In order to prevent this from happening you can either do a rope harness over the bag (which looks especially hot when using a contrast rope color) or add belt-like straps like from Stylefetish (I have been waiting for these straps to arrive in time for posting this review but sadly they didn’t. I will post a small review of them as soon as they arrive and I can put a sub into them). For most bondage boys this added layer of restraining is a great turn-on.

The zippers grant access to all important play areas but the nipples. A bit problematic is the lack of some form of cloth your can pull out from below the zipper on both sides to cover the zipper because the stretchiness of the material tends to pull the two sides of the open zipper together. This can be a problem for the top when while fucking the sub the zipper teeth can irritate his dick skin or for the sub when his junk is taken out for being played with. At least for the sub most of the time putting on a Oxball Nuttsling p.e. will do the trick protecting the skin around his penis root. Nevertheless the stretchiness can also be an advantage: putting nipple clamps is a bit difficult but once they are in place they stay in place even when the chest is already moist or the sub wiggles around. If you can fuck or enjoy fucking somebody while he is in the sleep sack is a very personal thing. All but one top didn’t like „humping a plank“ but the one loved the objectification of his fuck toy.

As mentioned above: the body bag is not waterproof. While I have not seen liquids leaking out off the seams the zippers above the ass is a problem. Because neoprene isolates so well this sleep sack is great for all kind of temperature scenes (please always monitor the hydration and overall body temperature of your sub!) or playing in chillier surroundings where a latex sleep sack would be too cold. But at some point the sweat will leak out of the rear zipper so put a towel under it. For anything nastier like letting the sub inside for so long that he pisses himself the sleep sack isn’t really made for. So either diaper up the sub or put the sleep sack on a surface which can be soiled by body fluids.

How Mister B brightened my week

As a marketing person I have been taught to never start a message with a negative statement. But today I somehow can’t do anything else: My week has been shitty so far. On Monday I fell down some stairs on campus and have to walk on crutches. Holding on crutches while standing in a crowded metro probably made me an easy victim because in such a place my smartphone and a set of expensive and very dear to me pens were stolen out of my pocket on Wednesday.

Last weekend I was in Karlsruhe at the Mister RubClub contest. It was a great event and I had loads of fun playing with a newbie. However, I learned that I am missing an important piece in my gear collection: Piss-proof restraints.

Leather doesn’t really like piss, but luckily there are a number of different materials out there: Neoprene, Velcro and rubber. Neoprene isn’t really my kink, it takes some effort to get the piss washed out of Velcro so that leaves rubber. Sadly rubber isn’t really made for hard playing. Most rubber restraints are either made out of the thick, hard kind of rubber with mostly sharp edges (in Germany we call them old tire rubber) or the softer one latex gear is made out of. That particular rubber looks great but when made out of two layers with fabric in between for reinforcement it is too weak – at least for my kind of BDSM. So finding the right kind of restraint for the piss AND pain pig in me is kind of hard.

Luckily Mister B offers just the right kind of restraints: On the outside is sturdy, reinforced rubber with rivets holding the D-rings in place, the belt loops are also reinforced with metal and on the inside there is thick padding beneath soft rubber which guarantees long term comfort when playing or even just wearing. Since they restraints come with different piping colors you can eve wear them as accessories or hankies. If I remember it correctly Mister B was also making matching collars reading “Piss Pig”, “Fuck Toy”, etc. but I can’t find them on their website anymore. You might need to ask your local Mister B dealer or contact them directly if you want one.

However, there is a downside with these restraints: The price. The pair of wrist restraints cost 105€, the pair of ankle restraints 112,50€. For the effort and difficulty of making theses restraints it is a good price point but sadly still too much to make me pick one up when I drool over them at their Berlin store or Dortmund’s in store boutique. The initial reaction to these clamps was “The are handy”. They are quite small yet sturdy built. The tips of the clamps are covered with a small rubber covers which you can take off and find aligator teeth under them. To connect the two clamps a robust chain is connecting them. The chain is connected to the clamps via a movable bail which is mounted on side of the clamps. Sometimes the bail gets between the two sides and thus jams the opening mechanism. Because the bail is rather large compared to the opening between the sides it can be hard to get it out of the way which is extremely annoying especially when you need to take the clamps off quickly. A better way to mount the chain onto the clamps probably would have been holes in one side and a direct connection.

The size of these clamps is a curse and a gift. They are very handy, can easily be worn under normal clothes or fetish gear like rubber and don’t take up much space so you can carry them around basically everywhere. The drawback is that the pressure points are very small and don’t have any texture. When you are wearing thick rubber gloves, have lube on your fingers or generally have large fingers they can be hard to handle.

Another ambivalent point are the rubber covers for the tips. When the skin area you are putting the clamps on is dry the rubber through is stickiness keeps the clamps in place very well. But as soon as the area is getting moist like through sweat the rubber slides of easily. This is especially annoying because due to their size they are perfect for wearing under tight fitting rubber. If the clamps start to get off, you can take off the rubber covers and unveil the heart of the beast: The aligator teeth which will keep the clamps in place. They are not as sharp as on other aligator clamps and they didn’t leave a permanent mark in my test rubber and leather. But I wouldn’t put them on such surfaces anyway because in order to feel something through the material you have to add pressure which will damage your fetish gear.

This brings me to the big advantage of these clamps: The flexibility. The spring isn’t too hard so they are great as beginner’s clamps, for really long term wear, a session start or if you feel a bit under the weather and want a lighter grip. But when you take the rubber covers off you are in for some real ouch and some nice marks after you have taken them off. As the spring isn’t so hard they are actually pretty comfortable for long time pain pig use.

Sadly increasing pressure by pressing on the sides is a bit difficult because yet again of the size and the tight fit on the body. This tight fit in combination with the round rubber covers and the quite small opening sadly limit the applicable areas to ones which stick out like nipples, tongue or earlobes. Yet again, as soon as you take the covers off the available possibilities broaden starting from the lips and end at the rim of your poor sub’s glans.
