Playing hard and long is almost like working out. Because of that it is important to eat well. And what better fruit to eat than a kiwi? With its high content of vitamin C, calcium, magnesium and potassium it is ideal to recover after a night of play and especially at events where fetish dinners have to be coordinated with pre party clean-out, the enzyme actinidain helps the digestion. The kiwi spoon is made out durable and sturdy ABS, polypropylene to be exact, in a fresh and gay lime green. Cleaning-wise it beats almost every toy I have ever reviewed! Just toss it in the dishwasher and be done with it. Also, being made by Tupperware, it will most likely outlast any toy in my collection (well, except the aluminum paddles probably) so it is something that you grandchildren will still enjoy! Though from a desing point of view, it is a bit dull. There is no texture or graphics on the backside. For a tool which to a certain extend is supposed to appeal to ABDLs eating mushy things, this is a lost opportunity.

While form follows function on the Kiwi Spoon, the design is particular. Unlike a traditional spoon where spoon dish is in the middle, the Tupperware spoon as one straight edge at the top and the rest bulges towards the bottom. The first 45mm of the 120mm overall length are occupied by a 35mm wide and 5mm spoon dish.

From the dish’s apex on, the spoon’s is a concave arch with a minimum body diameter of 22mm for better grip and handling. At the end of the body it bulges a little bit so even when you attack the kiwi with vigor, your hands do not slip. But despite this safety feature I would not advice to eat your fruit with too much force because the firm of the concave arch and the bulge feature toothing and slipping over the toothing is painful.

In theory the Tupperware Kiwi Spoon sounds like a compelling kink event traveling companion: It is small and light, easily stored in a toiletry bag and so always at hand when needed. The whole package sounds also compelling because the toothing promises the ability to cut a kiwi in half – even when traveling just with carry-on. Well… this only works if your kiwi has the right ripeness degree! Often the toothing is too dull (and thus the carry-on capability) or you squash the fruit. Regardless if you want to cut the fruit in half, skin it or if you try to cut the stalk from the skin, in most cases it either doesn’t work or ends in a big mess. Naturally, once you cut the fruit in half, you need to clean the tool thoroughly before using it as a spoon. Otherwise you fingers will be very sticky.

Also the spoon dish is only mediocre. The design is great. The curvature and depth is perfect for carving out most of the delicious fruit flash in one scoop. But again only in case you have a perfect, DIN & ISO normed kiwi. And let’s be honest: Thinking back to all those kink event hotels and post LAB brunches, how often did you have a sweetspot-ripe kiwi? Because as soon as the pulp becomes too firm, a metal spoon is the better alternative. And while the dish is lavishly dimensioned, the handle is too short for real leverage and digging the fruit flesh out of the skin cup. Because your fingers are quite close to the fruit, you have to be really careful during your digging! Otherwise juice spills onto your hand and you have to wash them.

In terms of versatility, the Kiwi Spoon is almost a one-trick pony. It works perfectly with green and yellow kiwis and eating dragon fruit can is most of the time a joyful experience. One testee reported great experiences eating a banana. So if you are weird like my friends and eat a banana, go for that spoon. Also pomegranates are eaten easily with this spoon – if you are sitting naked in the shower! Otherwise you will have to throw away your cloths and renovate the room you are sitting in! Looking at other spoonable fruits like grapefruits it fails completely and for melons it is simply too small.

Construction

In lack of better words the overall shape of the Pulse Solo Lux is like a hand axe – and for a good reason. It is the THE gensis of ALL handtools because it lies good in the hand. And so does this masturbator. It has a nicely rounded outer shell with a diameter of 67mm and the barrel shaped body tapered towards a pointy tip over the length of 106mm.

The front is made out of a sturdy polymere while the side and the back is clad in stiff yet soft to the touch silicone. The cover flows into two wings you wrap around the penis. Below the wings are three grooves and a 2.54mm diameter vibrating plate. On the left side of the body is the power button which is also used to shuffle through the programs as well as the power boost button. The entire toy is completely sealed to make it waterproof. This means, there are no interchangeable batteries. You charge the internal one through a magnetically attached lead you plug into an USB charger. The contacts on the Pulse Solo Lux should be cleaned well. When I charged it mid-scene a layer of cum actually was thick enough to prevent the charging. Also, lead must be perfectly aligned in order to charge. Luckily there is a little LED at the back which indicates if the toy is charging and when the process is done. The magnet is tiny so do not expect MagSafe level of connectivity or self-alignment. Even a little pull on the lead can break the connection, leaving your toy uncharged when you need it. It takes about 3h to charge the batteries completely. Depending on the mode and the intensity you get between 45 and 115 minutes of play out of one charge.

For storage especially during travel the Pulse Solo Lux comes with a satin drawstring back with cute little satin laces to close. At the risk of being called out for fragile masculinity but for a toy that calls himself “Guybrator” and wants to address stigma issues of erectile dysfunction, sex in the senior demographics, etc. I would have wished for a little bit more masculine packaging. But maybe this is just me.

A nifty add-on is the remote control. It comes in a silicone wrist band with a pin buckle. The silicon wraps so tightly around the unit that it is shielded from water and lube just like the masturbator itself. And, you have guessed it: Silicone = dust attraction.

tl;dr
Gentle fucking your anus with either the Organotoy Sit-Plug, SquarePeg Egg or the Topped Toy Gape Keeper with increasing larger sizes over time will make your hole fistable. Once you more or less easily take a firm Sit-Plug XL, Gape Kepper 93 or XXL Egg you should be able to take a medium size fist.

Ever since I started reviewing non-stim anal toys some 5 years ago, one of the most frequently asked set of question I have gotten is: How do I train my hole to take a fist? Which toys are best for the task? (For finding the perfect anal toy in general look here) Since review-wise I am still in hibernation it is the perfect time to write a comprehensive guide what toys and steps to take to get from a virgin or just dicked ass to a fist-greedy hole.

Physiology and Psychology of Getting Ready to take a Fist

First, let’s talk about the bodily aspects of fisting. The anus is a ring sphincter, a muscle. In order to make it smooth and willing open up, you need to carefully stretch it on a regular basis. For this I recommend a tandem of two plugs: One the goes in relatively easily to initially open up your hole and make it smooth. The best way to achieve this and accustom your hole to the stretch sensation of a fist, I recommend a gentle fucking with the plugs. Once the hole is opened up then other one should be used to stretch your sphincter. This again is a pushing/ fucking movement against the sphincter until it becomes uncomfortable. Keep the pressure at that point for a short while, then release and push again. Which level of discomfort is acceptable and needed for a good training is highly individual. Approach it carefully, explore what feels right and keep in mind what I write about pain below!

When the larger plug almost goes in initially as easily as the smaller one and you can fuck yourself with it, it is time to make the larger one your start plug and buy a bigger one for stretching. The size difference between the two plugs should be about 10mm to max. 15mm in diameter for two reasons:

  1. If the plug becomes too large, the overall shape gets too “dull” and it just bluntly presses against the sphincter which will not entice it to open up (more in the perfect shape below).
  2. You need a sense of achievement once in a while. Dully pushing a toy against your hole without any noticeable progress gets boring over time and demotivates. But when after two or three weeks of training you finally conquer a toy, you feel accomplishment. Adding to that the awesome feeling when the light pain of stretching turns into pure anal pleasure, there is strong positive conditioning going on. This is the psychological element of hole training!

One Disadvantage of Silicone: It attracts Dust like Nothing Else (as Shown on the SP Hour Hour)

The stretching can cause a little dragging pain but must not be intense or pinching or sharp! That is the reason why I recommend hole training on your own because you can best control the degree pf force and angle in which the toy should enter. Furthermore, especially in the beginning your hole will be tender quickly. So a potential play partner will be disappointed. Training does also not need to take long! 10 to 15 minutes every two or three days is enough to make progress. Actually, regular stretching is way better than one hour-long session once every blue moon. And with stretching I mean the gentle fucking movement describe above. There is little training effect in long-term wearing of plugs. It is actually counterproductive. If you wear a plug for extended periods of time, your sphincter will contract again and the mucosa inside the rectum will absorb the lube. Pulling the plug out then, especially when you are untrained can be very painful and cause injuries! The anus can take quite the beating when being relaxed! But if not, it is a very delicate body area.

That is why I like to compare fist training to starting Yoga. When you start out, you might be disappointed how clumsy and stiff you are. But when you keep going, push yourself a little bit and within reason on a regular basis at some point you will be able to touch your toes. And the same way, if you keep to the training regime you ultimately will be able to take a fist.

It is hard to pin down an exact plug diameter when you will be able to take a fist. Small fists could have a very sturdy bone structure while large ones could collapse easily making them easy to take than a smaller one. Also, a human hand will never be as soft and smooth as the squishy silicone currently popular. So the softer the silicone, the larger the plug has to be. But a good rule of thumb is that somewhere around 75mm diameter you should be able a medium glove size hand.

It is important to keep in mind that like in training there is a psychological factor in getting fisting: Allowing another person push his or her fist through your sphincter takes a lot of trust and relaxation. It is not uncommon that the first fist is a strong mindfuck and needs to be taken out right away and the session is then over. Do not consider this a failure! Keep in mind that you can now take a fist and go back to this trail of though with confidence before your next scene. Do not stress out if it does not work out the second or third time right away or at all. A hand in initial fisting position (pressing all stretched out fingers together) has roughly a cone shape. The diameter gradually increases until the thumb knuckle and then tapers again until the wrist. This double cone-shape which causes a stretch both going in and going out is best recreated in plugs.

I often get asked “Can I also use dildos to train?” Of course you can but the training effect will not be as big. The stretch and training effect basically only occurs when the dildo enters the anus. A dildo is good for getting the anus used to being stretched to a certain diameter (and the friction of the fucking stimulating the many nerve endings inside the anus makes the training enjoyable) but helps little in the quest of taking a fist. There are some dildos which through the shape can help train like the SquarePeg Longneck or Mr Hankey El Rey. Dildos which taper towards the bottom and thus increase the stretch are not really useful because often before you get to a useful stretch you run into depth problems. This means that you need to penetrate the very sensible second sphincter where the colon enters the rectum. This is a challenge especially for deep fisting and definitely a story for another day.

Many people get into anal stretching because they like the looks or the mind play (I am looking at your Furries! ;)) associated with fantasy toys like from Bad Dragon, Neotori or KnotMe which are often on the larger side of the size spectrum. One of the distinctive features are they elaborate shapes and textures. Sadly, the more texture and the complexer the shape, the harder they are to take. So they are not good training toys. Of course there are exceptions like the Bad Dragon Vergil or their Egg. Choosing the right Plug

As already written the training plugs should have a smooth and flowing conical shape both before and behind the equator so they easily go in and out. They should be made out of platinum silicone because its surface is super smooth and easy to clean. Finally, they should have an ergonomic base as a good handle when fucking and naturally come in a large number of sizes. These criteria meet three toys: The Organotoy Sit-Plug, SquarePeg Egg and the Topped Toys Gape Keeper. While the Sit-Plug has a slightly conical, the latter two have a long-drawn egg shape. Generally speaking an egg-shape is perfect for training. The cone-shape is a bit more demanding while the long-drawn stretches smoother and slower. Which one you should choose highly depends on your personal preference.

At Shore 00-34 Topped Toys uses slightly softer silicone which follows the current trend towards soft toys. With SquarePeg you have the choice of two firmness grades: SuperSoft (in their signature Bronze orange or a middle grey called Graphite) or Firm (only in black). And at Organotoy you can go crazy from soft Shore 00-30 up top ultra-firm Shore A30. The sweetspot is somewhere between Shore A3 and A10 because anything lower is very wobbely due to the Sit-Plugs thin neck; anything firmer is a real challenge. Personally, I prefer firm toys for training because the firm toys “force” the sphincter open a bit more easily (again, choose the force you are comfortable with and do not overdo it!) and the firmness is closer a human hand.

The SquarePeg Egg slopes are steeper compared to the other two and thus goes in a bit more easily. The Topped Toys Gape Keeper is a little bit duller and barrel shaped so it comes a bit closer to simulating the challenge of the thumb knuckle. The Sit-Plug is duller below its maximum diameter. Due to this the plug locks a bit into the rectum and is abit harder to pull out. This is actually a good feature because it immitated the bottom of the human hand. So it is a good training for the moment when the top pulls out his hand. The SquarePeg and Organotoy base is a bit easier to grab but especially at sizes larger than XL a bit cumbersome. Both models come in a wide variety of sizes so you can find the perfect pairing of fucking+stretching plug. If you can, go to a store, touch and look at the toys to find which fit you best. Of course, my reviews of the OT Sit-Plug, SP Egg and TT Gape Keeper are also an excellent point to start 😉

These toys are not inexpensive and I am aware that buying increasingly larger toys is an expensive route to take compared to cheap PVC toys but especially when you leave the realm of mass-commercial sizes (about 60mm diameter) there are not many well-shaped toys to continue your journey towards a fist (And do not get me started on heavy metals and plasticizers in PVC being absorbed by the mucosa in your rectum). Fisting is such a great experience so your hole should be worth it for you! Furthermore, these toy retain a somewhat good second hand value. Or you take my route and hand down some toys to eager bottoms starting the same journey I have been on and keep some if you want to train fistee in the making or need to open up a tense hole.

Then approaching the 70mm mark, there is another toy I recommend for training: The SquarePeg Acorn. Its duller tip is a bit closer to the ergonomics of a hand in fisting position than the perfectly smooth taper of the Gape Keeper and Egg. The duller transition between the body and the neck is also closer to the transition between thumb knuckle and wrist. Around the rim runs a bulge designed to stimulate the prostate and anus which frankly is a challenge and makes taking the plug harder when you are not experience. But holy fuck! When you take it and are experienced enough to relax becomes that little bump a horny feature!

The Topped Toys Grip 106

Sometimes i get the questions if the Topped Toys Grip or more recently the Deep Space are good for training. To be frank, I have not yet played with them but looking at their shape and taking into account my experience with other toys, I would say no for the training aspect. The Grip starts out at a size range where you are almost in fist territory and its slopes are too steep (there is actually a sweetspot between steep- and dullness which is too complicated to explain here). On the Grip 96 and even the Grip 106 it looks a bit better. They could maybe work for training, I actually need to try them myself. But also these two have the very prominent edge around the equator which makes the pop going in intense and the pushing out challenging. This makes the toy interesting and horny for experienced holes but nothing for novices. If you like the shape though, buy them as inspirational toys. Because, you should always buy toys for the hole you want not the hole you have 😉

The Topped Toys Deep Space 70

The Deep Space as its name says is made for training stretch in the depth of the rectum and colon. Furthermore the tip is again shaped for more experienced holes which easily open up. So like the Grip, save the purchase for when you are fist-savvy or get it as playroom decoration to look at and aspire to when training yourself in the meantime.

Ok, this is only in this section because you can buy clean-out accessories in the pharmacy. When training yourself, I would recommend not to overdo the douching because it irritates your anus and rectum, making it harder to open up. A thorough clean-out like before a good, heavy fucking should is enough. Yes, the fucking motion of the plugs can lead to some waste falling down. But this small thread it outweighed by the fact that you do not tired your hole out already in the bathroom.

When you get into serious fisting you will need to improve your clean-out routine. But still, you and your partner should always keep in mind where you put your hands. Accidents happen and are neither reason for drama nor for bottom shaming! Be adult about it, clean up, douche again, take a break and continue.  In my opinion, people who put down and shame bottoms for messy incident have not business of sticking their hands and dicks in rectums!

Lube

Lube is paramount! Too little lube can cause fissures and other accidents. There are some borderline cases (and with experienced players preferences) where there is too much lube. But especially when starting out with serious ass play, if you ask yourself “Should I add lube?” the answer is always “Yes!” When playing with silicone toys, you must not used silicone or hybrid lube because the silicone oil inside it will over time destroy your toys. The surface with become porous and sticky. I recommend water-based lube. There are countless brands available and actually two fister can talk for hours why which lube is the best. You just need to try. For the training the lube consumption will be relatively moderate. Since all powder lubes used for fisting go bad quickly, you should buy large and thus economic bottles of lube. My personal recommendations are Elbow Grease H2O Thick Gel or ID Glide because it stays in place on the toy but ever ass is different so give it a try.

Relaxants and Aftercare Ointments

There are many relaxation sprays and gels or even numbing ones out there. Stay away from them! The numbing effect will dull the pain you feel and thus an important indicator if you can still push on a bit or have to stop immediately! Injuries coming from being too forceful can keep you from ever enjoying any from of anal sex forever! So it is not worth it.

Heavy training can lead to mini fissures or stress-induced pain inside the sphincter. This is completely normal. For aftercare I recommend using baby diaper rash cream with panthenol and zinc oxide to help the small wounds to close and calendula and either chamomile or sage for a soothing effect. Even when you are a masochist, I recommend to wait with proceeding with the training until you have no pain in the anus anymore. Otherwise problems can escalate.

And finally a necessary word on semi legal and illegal substances. I will neither recommend nor demonize them because people will be using them anyway. Like relaxation or numbing gels they can greatly impair you ability to notice something is wrong. So especially when training, using anything more than poppers and THC which is relatively safe is very dangerous! If you decide to use substances educate yourself about the short and longterm effects and especially safe use. Never use them alone and try them with an experienced person you trust. Discuss your limits before hand and do not move/ let yourself be pushed further than you are comfortable with when you are sober.

Merry Christmas you happy perverts!

This is usually the spot where I am expressing my hope that after all the Christmas debaucheries you get up to some nasty fun and maybe get try some of your new kinky toys. But this year is different.

Like many, I am spending Christmas alone. In my case for the first time because travelling to my parents or even my BF’s family would have been too risky. But there is a silver lining on the horizon and I am certain that sometime next year we will be able to do all the things we now so painfully miss.

As dire as 2020 has been in total, it has been a great year for ToyTorture.com. Locked down, people started to explore their kinky side – both alone and with their partner(s). So if you are one of those new readers, I especially welcome you and hope you are here to stay! I have never gotten so many reader questions, got so many visitors and gained so many Twitter followers – hitting 10k just this morning -, that I am humbled. What started out as a little past time project when I was still a BA student grew over the years into something so much bigger! Over the years, I have grown as a person and as a kinkster, exploring things I would have never imagined. You are pushing and driving me and I am grateful for that!

But as the years passed, my life beyond ToyTorture.com has changed quite a bit. Over 4 years ago I left university. Working full time in the job I have studied for, I started a career in a completely different field than kink and sex toys. And with growing responsibilities, the time on my hand is getting scarcer.

I am not sure yet how this development will affect ToyTorture.com. But what I can assure you: Despite steadily and steeply growing KPIs, I will not turn this website into a business! I will not become an influencer who needs to push you towards certain toys to meet marketing agreements or make affiliate commissions. You will always get my honest, unapologetic opinion on toys! They still will mostly be positive because I want a happy mood here and always considered ToyTorture.com a lighthouse in a sea of badly made, dangerous and knocked off toys. And as long as there are manufacturer who will not send me review samples because I am too critical or do not “promote” products enough, I know that I am on the right way.

Like every year, I am taking a creative break after Christmas for a few weeks and month. This is especially necessary this year, because getting review experience during the lockdown has been a challenge. But I will be back!

How do I start?” Good chain being a difficult to procure (sharp edges anyone?), I wondered “How could the interest in chain be combined with the advantages of silicone toys?” And along came the crazy guys at Flurb this fall…

Construction

Well… what to write about the design this toy? It is a just chain after all… The basic design of connecting more than three links has been around for over 2,200 years now. But you can never go wrong with a classic! But knowing how silicone toys are made, I wondered how this chain is manufactured: The individual links are cast and then 50% are cut in half. These half-shells are then used to connect two links. While you can still see the seam connecting the links, it has been thoroughly smoothed so you don’t feel it.

The Three Colors of the Flurb Chain: Gold, Silver & Bronze

Being made by Flurb, it is made out of nice, squishy platinum silicone which is 100% body safe, super-smooth and hyp7o allergenic. I could not find a Shore value for it, but from my experience I would say it is around A5. This may sound firm, especially considering the current trend towards (absurdly, almost unusable) soft silicone, since the links are by design airy and thin they give in and stretch well. Color-wise you can choose between a silver/ steel tone, a dark bronze and a rich gold. All colors are not solid but have a bit of a marble and sparkle, authentically conveying the impression of aged metal.

A single link of the Flurb Chain measures 70mm in length, 50mm in width and has a wire strength of 15mm.  The chain is sold in five possible lengths.

Playing with the Chain

First things first: “Can I stuff it up my butt?” Yes! Yes, you can! And it is great! As I have written, the links are a bit squishy. On the ends where the links are connected, they naturally are a bit firmer (as ToyTorture always says: The thicker the silicone, the firmer it will feel) than in the middle where they can be compressed easily. This leads to a nice popping sensation, especially when you pull out the chain. Yet the silicone is stiff enough to want to expand to its original shape and size once inserted. So you can get a nice stuffed and full feeling. But depending on your anatomy and experience level, you should definitely be more ambitious when choosing the length of your chain for that feeling! My chain has 15 links and I wished I would have gone for the 19 link, if not 23 link version. Because if the chain is completely stuffed up my butt, there is still room until I would get the nice, full feeling. Luckily, you can always add volume easily.

A longer chain is also nice for the obscene look of a big and heavy chain “leaking” out of the ass hole. If you fear, you might loose the chain inside your butt, simply wrap one of the end links around the base of your cock and balls. This is also the basis for a bit of an ass lock look: Push a (not too large) plug through the link, anchor the plug’s base around the link and wrap one link around your junk. The chain has not enough rigidity to transfer much of the jerking motion onto the plug. But if you have at least 7 links between the butt plug’s anchor link and the loose end, (forcefully) dangling and swinging the chain creates enough momentum to move the plug inside the bottom’s ass.

For guys with real loose low-hangers, the fun stops no there. With a bit of work and dexterity, you can stack one link over the other while wrapping them around your sack’s neck. A top then pulling on the chain forcefully enough for the links to untangle and come loose is a unique CBT experience. Especially if the top took advantage of the tightly stretched balls and gave them a good beating.

In the past years, wearing increasingly larger chains around your neck at events like Folsom Europe has been a big trend. And the Flurb Chain can definitely play with the big boys in that field! The largest non-commercial anchor chain has a wire strength of 13mm, a pitiful 2mm less than this handsome beast. So now you just need to find a lock large and light enough to lock this silicone accessory around your neck. I am also sure, Flurb would be able to make a custom closed chain like a necklace you simply need to pull over your head.

One thing the Flurb Chain will not give you it the sensation of a compact, heavy chain resting in your colon. Being made ouf ot thick and considerably firm platinum silicone, a link weights around 31g. This means the almost one meter long 23 link version weights around 710g which is one third of a one meter 10mm wire strength short-link stainless steel chain. But the nice stuffy feeling in combination with the security platinum silicone offers over stainless steel, it is a good trade off!

Speaking of security, here is the usual platinum lecture: Only use with water or oil based lubes; never hybrid or silicone ones because it will damage the toys (this includes silicone oil or other products to shine rubber!). Store separately from other toys without touching other materials with plasticizers in them and pressure on the Chain. Wash in warm dish soap water, let/ wipe dry, sanitize and you are instantly ready to stuff this toy into another partner.

The Mr S Leather Savage Hood

It is amazing how quickly this year’s Advent season flew buy and I am already penning the last ToyTorture’s Stocking Stuffer for this year. And I did safe one of the best for last.

Somehow through my gear purchases and preferences this heavy bondage special had the character of “heavy bondage meets skin access”. While overheating is a real problem it creates is a goal conflict with full coverage. So a common to last week’s review way “Great piece of gear but I wish it would cover more skin.” Luckily there is a compromise and it comes from Mr S: Their Savage hood range.

They are made out of Mr S’ soft and rich smelling leather (leather Bag hood smellgasm anyone?) and closed by lacing so they wrap tightly around the head! The leather is completely perforated so air and a bit of light can pass through the material. I briefly had the chance to try one of these on BLF Easter 2019 and the perforation allows for some ventilation and transpiration. Of cause not as much as the Strap Face Cage or a muzzle would. And wearing it in the bright sun is still an issue. But it is a massive improvement over a bag hood for example.

Furthermore, especially the Savage hood is the piece of bondage/ leather gear that will bring you closest to the smooth, full coverage gimp look only achievable by rubber. There are no nose holes or other cutouts that disturbs the plain leather look. This makes this hood great for dehumanizing subs. Or for anonymous tongue worshipping play with the Savage Sucks.

The Fetters Full Sleeve Bondage Mitts

Construction

Like on all Fetters leather bondage items, the first thing that strikes you is the strong and rich smell of high quality leather. Second, you will notice that like all bondage mitts from Fetters they are sold in pairs (it pains me that I have to point that out when looking at the competition…). The main body of each restraint is a 640mm long mitt made out of soft leather. The circumference at the top is 400mm which is large enough for most subs though body builders might want to get a custom version.

For about 2/3 of the body’s back there is a lacing to fetter the mitts tightly to the arm. The lacing using nylon string is strong enough for a tight fit and restricts the arm movement. Yet it is not strong enough to completely keep the elbow from bending. What really keeps the restraints bound to the arm are two 25mm wide bridle leather belts with roller buckles, one going around the wrist, the other going around the biceps sitting 70mm below the top of the mitts. The top strap is not riveted onto the body but runs to a pair of D-rings sitting, one on each side of the lacing. There are two more pairs, each 120mm apart. The wrist belt is riveted onto the mitt. On top of the mitts another strap is riveted perpendicular onto the belt. With this strap and two pairs of rivets a D-ring is housed at the bottom of the mitts. A final D-ring can be found on the top, next to the lacing.

Playing with the Full Sleeve Bondage Mitts

Through the size and the area these mitts cover, I consider them “body bondage” items. Putting them on a sub takes a bit of work and time. But it is also part of the fun with these restraints. In the process is also a sense of drama in it, taking away more and more the ability of his arms to move and letting him feel the contrast between the soft touch and tightening of the leather – especially if the sub has a leather fetish. Just like with the Bishop Head Harness, “ritualistically” putting the mitts on sets the moods and helps getting into headspace.

Through the D-ring layout, these mitts can naturally work as a cuff restraints substitute in almost any situation. Most fun was had by my testees in spread eagle position or when having their arms tied upwards laying in the sling. In this position the degree of bondage can easily be increased by connecting the D-rings to the sling chains.

But the full sleeve mitts really start to shine when you connect the top D-rings to a (bulldog) harness and leave the bed (room) with your sub. With just loosening the lacing a bit, adding a strap to connect the bottom D-rings and interconnecting the lateral D-rings on both mitts, you have a veritable straitjacket sleeve substitute. For a stricter layout with less wiggle room, tie the arms to the side using a full body bondage harness. Then thread a belt through the bottom D-rings and fasten it around the thighs and the leather gimp can (somewhat) walk about without moving his arms. Personally I enjoyed most using the Full Sleeve Bondage Mitts in a bondage frame. The many attachments points inside the frame in combination with the many D-rings enabled me to fetter a sub securely enough to flog him.

Since I like the esthetics and the helplessness, I tried turning the full sleeve mitts into arm binder by connecting the bottom D-rings with a shackle and the other D-rings with belts. The layout worked but a word of caution is necessary: Do not tighten the belts too tightly or too quickly. Unlike restraints for this specific purpose like the Fetters Leather Arm Binder you can easily get to a degree of tension that puts too much stress on the shoulders and elbows or restricts blood flow to the hands. So if you are a fan of “tighter is better”, I highly recommend adding specific arm binder restraints to your collection. A safer (and what turned out more fun) way is running a piece of rope through both bottom D-rings and a D-ring at the bottom of a parachute with spikes. This will limit the arm movement too – sooner or later.

Another setup a top testee did but I would not recommend it connecting the top D-rings to a collar. The chances of the sub strangling himself or causing disc injuries are too high in my opinion.

Of course, through the many D-rings, these bondage mitts are an ideal addition to rope bondage. The simplest ways is tying the top D-rings into a torso harness or the bottom ones to the thighs. But an experienced rigger will surely find more creative ways to make use of all the D-rings like body harness or tying two subs together a rope-inexperienced person like me cannot imagine.

If the mitts with the lacing are not strict enough, I recommend buying two 40cm – 50cm (depending on the leeway you want to allow) spreader bars. Connect one end to the bottom D-ring, the other to the two D-ring holding the biceps strap in place to severely limit the arm movement.

Conclusion: Restrictive and versatile piece body bondage gear.

Fetters Portable Bondage Board equipped with Cuff Restraints

This year again, many kinksters will wish for their own playroom for Christmas. Having lived in dorms and with roommates, I am painfully aware that this wish often takes time to become true. So as the third Christmas gift recommendation I want to show you the Fetter Portable Bondage Board (which I have now reviewed in December 2021).

The board measures 107x612cm and features a total of 14 D-rings, 6 on the side and 2 on each end. So regardless if you are a rigger or using cuff style restraints with carabineers like me, it offers opportunities for many different bondage positions. Since it is thickly padded it is comfortable to kneel or lay in it for extended periods of time. As a cover material, you can choose between leather or a water- and oil-proof material. While looking at all the great leather gear I own from Fetters, the leather quality will be top notch, soft and smelling awesome, I would recommend the Rubluxe. From this material sweat can be easily wiped off and the bondage board can double as an underpacking for fisting – regardless if you prefer Crisco or excess Jlube.

So far, it is also a good piece of bondage furniture for people with a playroom. But: The board can be folded in the middle! Then it only measures 53x61cm and at 10cm height, it can be easily stores away under a bed or in a wardrobe (IKEA Pax are 70cm deep ;)). At 10kg, it is a bit on the heavier side to travel with. But especially if you travel by car, I am certain you will get your effort’s worth at events like Folsom Europe.

Regardless of the cover material, the Fetters Portable Bondage Board costs £245 at Regulation in London.

This piece of bondage gear is bit hard to describe. After a scene where I put it on an art major I once called it a “deconstructed hood” which has best approximation I could come up with yet. It is a system of over a dozen straps riveted together and attached to a collar to envelope the entire head. The straps around the head are made out of soft bridle leather to tightly follow the shape of the head. While the edges are burnished so there is no chafing, the straps’ bottom has not been treated! So especially with sweaty subs expect a lot of black lint on their head for the first few scenes. The folded garment leather straps as on the Bishop Head Harness would have been better. There are three vertical and two horizontal roller buckles on both sides. The have a large range of adjustability for a snug fit on almost every head size. The collar is made out of folded garment leather with a bridle leather strap on the outside. It is closed with a locking roller buckle.

Around the eyes and the mouth the rivets have been replaced by snap buttons. The eyes can be covered with a blindfold made out of thicker bridle leather than the straps on the outside and soft garment leather with padding over the eyes on the inside. While the padding is good to even out the “high difference” of the different straps, it puts some pressure on the eyes and still lets some light in. The pressure situation gets better over time as the blindfold gets broken in more and more. But if you really want to isolate the sub visually, my advice – as always – is to blindfold your sub with a Mr S Ultra Blindfold before you strap the Face Cage around him. But since its padding is softer and the blindfold larger, even put over the cage’s straps the block-out will be more efficient. The mouth can be covered with a simple rectangle piece of bridle leather outside/ garment leather inside or apparently shut with a similar piece of leather featuring tongue suppressor. I learned about that option when I pulled up the product’s webpage to link at the end of the review. When I got this toy in September 2019, my Strap Face Cage did not come with it. So I am not sure if between then and now they added the option or if they forgot to add it to my order. Naturally, I cannot judge the play value of the tongue gag so please excuse this gap.

Another play feature are D-rings in the front of the collar and at the crown. As always with Mr S Leather they are sturdily secured under a piece of leather and riveted in place. They can take a beating and considerable force despite with a width of 23mm and a wire strength of 4,5mm being relatively small. The size is due to the straps’ width so they do not look out of proportion. Personally, I would have preferred them more “butch” but since they still do their duty excellently, there is no real reason to complain.

In the last review I also took a piece of bondage gear for people who easily overheat. This piece of head gear has the same properties. The straps are far enough apart for good ventilation and allow for enough sweat evaporation to cool the head in most situations.

This makes the Strap Face Cage a good toy for outdoor scenes or events like Folsom Street fair. The head is especially prone to heat stroke so wearing a closed, especially black hood over the head can quickly lead to heat build-up – with fetal results. This limitation might disappoint some full coverage enthusiasts, but testees and play partners found some good fetish quality in the design. It has an archaic, Mad Max vibe. Exposing the sub while constraining him in a cage has great humiliation potential. Despite not covering all of the head it is a toy for a true leather fetishist. The soft leather straps hug the skins firmly yet smoothly and they smell like every piece of leather gear from Mr S leather.

Of course, this toy also offers great play capabilities. The D-rings placement is very thought-out. While the one at the front of the collar is pretty standard and naturally ideal for attaching a leash. The one at the crown makes the Strap Face Cage a good toy for tying the head down. If you make this anchor point the strictest on the head, there is almost no chance of the sub strangling himself. Since this hood does not restrict breathing, it is a great piece of gear to wear while sleeping. The soft leather in combination with the small and slim buckles on the side minimize the pressure for an actually mostly comfortable sleep. On the other hand of the softness spectrum, the rivets on the inside of the Strap Cage will intensify each blow dealt to the face! It actually made an experienced, masochist sub cry when his top gave him a backpfeiffe (it is a German regionalism you have to goolge).

As most regular readers will know I am a sucker for sensation play. And this toy offered me a new perspective on this form of play. Usually sensation play is all about continuous stimulation. This twilight zone of stimulation and leather pressing into my skin drove me and my subs insane. We wanted to touch, the lick, the gentle blow of air to go on forever. But the was a strap in the way! Would the stimulation continue behind the strap or stop? This suspense, this play of tease and denial frustrated one sub so much that he safeworded. Of course, this only work with subs who have very sensitive skin and are highly receptacle for sensation play. For others, the space between the straps is too small to trigger the response to the induced sensations.

Conclusion: Combination of the bondage sensation of a straitjacket with great play access.

Comparison of the Four Different Muzzle Types

There are few individual toys I get so many reader questions about than the House of Bascanio Muzzles. Not a week passes by without a question in my inbox about their quality and play properties and which one I would recommend for a specific scene. Sadly I could not get my hands on one or two of them. But since I have heard good things about them I at least want to give them an honorary mention in the Christmas gift tips this year.

House of Bascanio currently has the broadest range of muzzles for males with 7 varieties in production. Their muzzles itself did not reinvent the wheel. They all follow the basic design that Sinvention popularised over two decades ago. But the House of Bascanio takes the design to the next level. On the higher range models all their straps are made out of garment leather so they hug the skull tighter for less wiggle room and stronger bondage. They also offer a greater scope and ranger of size customization for a better fit. The more elaborate models feature padding all over the muzzle for more comfort when lying down, a thicker and wider collar (the M2 and M3 even has a design come close to a posture collar for stricter bondage) or locking pins for securing the muzzle. Depending on the model, there are considerably more D-rings which as you know if you have been reading my blog for some time is always better. Speaking if anchor points: Some models can be ordered with a bulldog harness connected to them for more security and a uniform look.
