ElectraStim Flick Duo Unboxing

In just a few weeks the Third Annual E-Stim Special will start on ToyTorture.com. For a couple of weeks it will be all about E-Stim on this website. So one after the other I am slowly getting the toys which I than will be reviewing. ElectraStim is one of the major manufacturers of E-Stim toys and thus I have gotten a lot of questions which of their power box I would recommend. Thus I was very happy when they sent me their Flick Duo along with two electrodes earlier this weekend to put them through my hard testing routine.

The toy comes in a black, sturdy 147x87x90mm cardboard box with the ElectraStim logo embossed in silver. It is wrapped in a trade outer packaging which shows a picture of the box and explains its main features.

Directly below the lid the Flick Duo is housed in a velvety covered tray. The power box features soft-touch push buttons which are symmetrically laid out: In the center there are the power and the mode selection button with the mode number indicator above. On the left and on the right are the intensity controls for the two independent channels. At the top there are two sockets for the two channels, on the bottom there is the Mini USB charging socket.

The Flick Duo comes with a manual in English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish and Italian. It explains the basis of e-stim, how to operate the box, walks you through the 8 programs and 4 flick modi and gives good advice on how to use the electrodes which come with the box. With the manual comes a little card. On one side they advertise for their Jack Socket e-stim enhanced masturbator, on the other side it is described how you can qualify for an additional year of warranty.

Next inside the box there is a small black drawstring back with a silver ElectraStim logo printed on it. It is large enough to hold the Flick Duo, two leads and a pair of conductive loops and some pad electrodes.

Next are the hardware essentials: A Mini USB cable for charging and two 2mm plug to bipolar 2mm pin leads.

Last but not least the Flick Duo comes with four self-adhesive pad electrodes. They are good for a first glance into the e-stim world and allow for out of the box fun.

I am very much looking forward to test this little beast and am especially excited which means things I will be able to do with the flick feature .

Construction

This power box is quite small measuring only 96mm x 61mm x 26mm. It is made out of sturdy black plastic which has an abrasive surface but on the top for better grip. On top the program numbers with the corresponding names are printed with fluorescent ink so after letting the device sit in light a bit you can read which program is which number even in the dark. On the bottom there is the battery compartment for 9V block batteries. All important functions are found at the front of the box. There are the two 3.5mm jackets with channel A on the far left and channel b on the far right. Left from the middle is a double digit nine-segment display with red LEDs, right from it is mono microphone and the power button.

This power box is controlled using a small remote control which measures 72mm x 34mm x 14mm. It features a small carabineer on the lower left corner so you can attach it to a lanyard. In order to exchange the battery you have to unscrew the bottom of the remote control. On the top there are four buttons numbered 0 to 3. Under each button it says what the button does resp. what holding button 0 or 1 down and pressing 2 and 3 will do. On the far right side of the remote there is another red LED which flashed when you press a button.

The box comes with a detailed instruction book and two 3.5mm to 4mm banana plug leads.

Playing with the Toy

As with all E-Stim boxes the sensation experience by the sub depends on a number of factors like which electrode is used where on the body. So the description of the individual programs can only be a rough one.

Program Name Number Induced Sensation
Basic 0 On-Off stimulation with both channels overlapping a bit.
Waves 1 Raising and falling stimulation with Channel B raising while Channel A is going down.
Stroke 2 A bit like wave with raising and falling stimulation with Channel B rising while Channel A is going down yet the speed and intensity changes over time.
Rhythm 3 On-off stimulation with one channel being strong and the other being softer. The stronger channel will increase in intensity to a peak and will start over.
Random 4 Random stimulation in pattern and intensity. Sometimes a channel gets switched off for a period of time to let the nerve endings recover.
Audio Soft 5 Even soft noises get transformned into stimulation on both channels. Best used in a quite environment otherwise the stimulation is continuous.
Audio Loud 6 Quieter noises are ignored and only louder ones produce stimulation on both channels.
Training Levels 1 – 3 7 First select the intended intensity in the Basic program. If you press button 1 a short burst of this intensity is fired. With button 2 a longer, more intense burst is fired. With button 3 an even longer, more intense burst is fired. If you keep button 3 pressed the intensity will grow stronger every second the button is pressed!
Training Ramps 1 – 3 8 First select the maximum intensity in the Basic program. When pressing buttons 1 to 3 the intensity slowly builds up until the selected intensity while 1 is the slowest and 3 is the quickest build up.
Training Signals 1 – 3 9 First select the intended intensity in the Basic program. Each button from 1 to 3 create unique pattern in roughly the selected intensity.

With this box you can only select a program for both channels. There is no way to select a different program for channel A and channel B. When playing for extended periods of time the box will shut down if it hasn’t received a command in 30 minutes resp. 120 minutes if in one of the training modes (number 7 to 9). So especially in long term scenes regularly increase the stimulation a bit. This is also good general advice because the nerves adjust to the stimulation so a constant stimulation level is felt less intense over time.

When I first got this box I have to admit the way of controlling it scared me a bit with double and triple function keys. Being more of a bottom who in a nutshell has to explain a potential top how the device works I was a bit discouraged. However As already written the control layout is printed on the remote control and after having used the box four times I knew intuitively which button to press for what. The red LED display works great in all environments with when starting telling the battery level and the corresponding left or right bottom LED flashing when a channel is firing.

This box is even smaller than the ET232 I reviewed last year so it is even better for travelling. The drawback is that you can’t manipulate the programs so you are basically stuck with the stimulation that comes out of the box (don’t get me wrong! The stimulation the box delivers is awesome!). But what this box lacks in adjustability it wins in flexibility being remote controlled. On an open field the range of the remote control is approx. 30m, inside a building depending on the number and material of walls up to 15m.
Having the controls detached from the box creates a big mindfuck. The sub never knows when the stimulation will kick in and in what intensity. So many scenarios are possible: From the sub laying bound alone in the playroom to going shopping when suddenly the e-stim kicks in and the sub has to get a hold of himself. The latter scenario works especially well with the training programs. I know numerous masters who trained their slaves to perform different tasks depending on which signal is fired. Complete remote control though takes a bit of mental effort at the side of the top who needs to know in which program he was on which level in order to operate the box without the display. Yet again, with a bit of training this works really well.
Especially when visiting big events or play parties I highly recommend changing the channel on the box (How to do this is very well described in the manual). Most people don’t bother to do so and I have heard of cheeky people walking around at big events like IML with their remote set to the standard and pressing buttons hoping a box in a training mode on their frequency is waiting for a command…

The fact sheet says that the ET320R has 60 micro coulombs per pulse versus the ET312b which has 80 micro coulombs per pulse. Of cause when it comes to stimulation more is always better but the small box is definitely powerful enough to make you cum, scream or beg for more.  Speaking of fact sheets: I have talked to people who have owned their boxes for nearly a decade and being an electronic device it will sooner or later have some issues. They have ensured me that with a little technical knowledge and talent this box is easy to repair; the manufacturer ErosTek has recently launched a spare part section on their website to it can now be repaired with original parts. However: I have to strongly urge you to only let a true electrical engineering expert repair this box because malfunctions can cause serious harm or at best unintended and unwanted unpleasant stimulation!

Finally a word of warning for people wanting to order it inside the EU: All Erostek devices I have seen so far are lacking the CE marking which is a requirement for a device being sold in the EU. Several friends of mine had their Erostek device being confiscated by custom officers in several different countries when ordered directly from the USA. Best and safest way to get an Erostek device into the EU is either ordering it through Regulation in London or purchase it when visiting a country outside the EU and bring it with you personally (even though theoretically it can be confiscated by custom at the air port).

Design

As the name of the toy already says it is basically shaped like a butt plug. It has a broad base which is 11mm high and has a diameter of 25mm. Into it two deep groves are milled for good grip even with sweaty fingers. On the one side of this base there is a 4mm hole for your banana plugs. On the other side is the piece which goes into your urethra: On the size S model which I have gotten as a review sample from E-Stim System it is a 44mm long pole of stainless steel. The first 20mm have a diameter of 5.5mm. Then within 12mm the diameter increases to 7.5mm and decreases over the last 12mm to a domed tip with a diameter of 4mm. The Penis Plug is made out of  aicraft grade aluminium so it is light,  has a polished surface and comes in three sizes: S with a maximum head diameter of 7.5 mm, M with 8.5 mm and L with 9.5 mm.

Like nearly all E-Stim System Products the Penis Plug comes in a nice black plastic tube for storage and a manual. The sounds are covered by E-Stim System’s Lifetime Guarantee but being made out of hard stainless steel please hit me up and send me a picture of your toy if you ever need to take advantage of it.

Playing with it

Last week I talked about the E-Stim System UltraSounds which are great but take some effort and concentration when using. If you are not part of the group of people who enjoy dropping the sound into the dick (and doe to the banana plug with a cable  on the end I would strongly discourage you from doing it with an e-stim sound!) you have to hold the sound constantly  in your hand monitoring depth in order not to alter the e-stim sensation. With the Penis Plug, things are different.

Due to the base you can let it slowly let it sink into your dick until the base hits the top of your glans and it will stay in this position. And when I say “let it sink”, I mean it! Applying more than just a little gentle force can lead to serious injuries. Better enjoy the slow stretch which offers a unique sensation. With the a normal sound your urethra stays stretched but with the Penis Plug the urethra closes a bit after the head. Thus the stretching sensation is focused on the largest diameter of the head. The feeling itself is hard to describe; you just have to try it. Of cause this “ring” is pressed the hardest against the skin so the e-stim sensation is felt strongest there.

Like last week’s sounds the Penis Plug is a monopole so you need a counter pole. Again just below the glans, around the penis root or balls are good position. But a really interesting spot is around the part of the penis where the urethra is stretched the most. Subjectively the stimulation felt most intense there.

Since you stick the Penis Plug into your urethra just like a sound the same safety rules apply. So I copy and paste what I wrote last week on lube and cleaning.

The urethra is usually a sterile environment. Introducing germs or bacteria into environment can lead to very nasty and painful infections. Also the mucosa can be easily damaged. In order to address both potential problems always as a top wear disposable gloves and use ample sterile water-based lube. Never use silicone or fat based lube to insert anything into your dick. With normal water-based lube you can be lucky and but I wouldn’t take the chance. There are two types of sterile lube packaging: There are tubes (most commonly know is K-Y lube) which basically as soon as you open then there is the potential of contamination. But still they are better than any “normal” water-based lube. And there are sachets which you can get in medical supply stores e.g. for laying a catheter. One sachet will be more than enough lube than you will need but still: NEVER seal a sachet. Leftovers get disposed! There is a third form of lube: Medical numbing gel mostly containing Lidocaine. It is also sterile and will numb the mucosa. While this makes the sensation of the insertion easier to bear it also prevents you from feeling if anything is wrong so I would not recommend it.

After you have used the sounds clean the lube off in hot soap water and dry them off properly. Than spray them with a sanitizer. In order to be really sure that no harmful organism survived I pull the sound through a lighter torch. Be careful when doing this: First, dry off all sanitizers. Most of them use alcohol and alcohol and fire can lead to nasty surprises. Second, being made out of metal the heat gets disturbed quickly. Don’t burn your fingers.

Conclusion: Well made and easier to use urethra e-stim toy with a unique insertion sensation

Today I am reviewing three different versions of the E-Stim System UltraSounds which they send me for the E-Stim Special. While they all have their own design properties they work the same when playing with them.

Design

All UltraSounds are made out of medical grade stainless steel with a polished surface. Their tip is tapered for easy insertion. On the other end there is a hole for a 4mm banana plug and four deep grooves to ensure safe grip even with sweaty fingers.

The smooth range comes in to lengths: The Micro range sounds which are 75mm long and the standard range is 175mm long. In this length you can also have the Dipstick finish. Then there are grooves on the body every 20mm which let you see how deep the sound has already been inserted and they add a bit of stimulation. All three ranges came in diameters of 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm.

Each sound comes in a nice black plastic tube which is great for storing them and a manual. The sounds are covered by E-Stim System’s Lifetime Guarantee though I can’t imagine how you could ever break one of these.

Playing with it

Inserting a sound into somebody’s body as a very hot and intimate form of play. Usually nothing is supposed to enter this part of the body the nerve endings in the urethra are quite sensitive. In order not to injure the delicate area don’t apply to much force when pushing the sound down. Like the second anal sphincter the ability to voluntarily open it up is quite limited so tease and seduce it top open and don’t force it. Because of that, start out with a small sound and if you want to train your dick to take larger ones. The sensation itself is hard to describe. Just try it out. Of cause the “rough” grooves of the Dipstick make it extra interesting by adding a new source of stimulation. Part of the fun is also the mindfuck of knowing and potentially seeing hard steel sinking into you dick. It is a great headspace of vulnerability because the top is in control of one of your most sensitive body areas. That being said the E-Stim System UltraSounds are good sounds just for sounding. With the tapered tip they make their way into the dick with ease.

The real fun starts however when you add the e-stim sensation. Having relatively little mass and contact area in a body area with many nerve endings little intensity is required to produce intense sensations. The contact area is where you can really start to play: Push in the sound a bit deeper to make the sensation less intense, pull it out to make it stronger. This can lead to a hot trade-off game: Deeper (= more uncomfortable sound wise) vs. more intense e-stim sensation. That being said ALWAYS turn your box off when you pull the sound out because the sensation can quickly become excruciating when the contact area is getting smaller. This is especially important when you play with yourself: Once you pull the sound out and you are holding it with your bare fingers there currency will flow through your body (and potentially your heart!) between the counter pole and the tip of the sound you are holing.

As already implied: The e-Stim sounds are all monopoles so you need another pole to create an e-stim sensation. The placing of the pole influences the sensation as bit. If you use a conductive silicone loop around the glans the currency will run up the shaft stimulating the nerve endings on the back of the dick. For a little bit less intense stimulation tie the loop around the base of the dick or the balls. I would not recommend too much distance between the two poles. The longer the distance the greater the chance of running out of cable, involuntarily yanking at it which can lead to unpleasant abrupt movements.

Design

The overall design of this toy looks like rutes used for percussion. The handle is a 16.5cm long barrel covered in an isolating material with a jacket for 4mm banana plugs on one end. Out of this handle a fan of thin yet stiff stainless steel wires emerge. The fan is approx. 11cm long and 4cm wide at the end.

Playing with it

As I explained in detail here the feeling of the e-stim sensation is determined by the mass and contact area of the electrode used. Well… the ElectroWhisker has almost no mass so even little output power can create strong sensations. What makes this toy so devilish is how easily you can alter the contact area. Start out with the ElectroWhisker almost parallel to the body making the largest possible contact area and then slowly (!) lift the handle while still applying pressure so part of the fan gets pressed against the body. Just lifting it a bit creates an immense increase in experienced sensation. While this is very fun especially for a true masochist please be careful. Slipping or too abrupt movement s can create really excruciating pain! Also be careful when changing directions: The stiffness and friction of the wires can make single wires stick to the skin and jump abruptly decreasing the contact area which leads to more intense stimulation. To prevent that especially at the end of a scene: Turn of the box before you lift the ElectroWhisker!

The ElectroWhisker is a monopolar toy so you always need a second pole in order to create a sensation. Since the sensation is always felt at the pole with less mass I recommend using a mass-richer electrode like a metal butt plug; but silicone loops also work. Especially when you press the entire fan against the body blue bands and pad electrodes are sometimes not mass-rich enough. Of cause the alternation of the sensation between these two areas can be interesting but most of my subs found it irritating (Of cause this might what you are going for…). As with any e-stim toy the general rule applies: No stimulation above the waist. But in this case there is “but”: The problem with stimulation that crosses the waist is that current might flow through the heart causing potentially leather effect. If you want to travel over the entire body with the ElectroWhisker, do what I am doing: Take an E-Stim System Classic electrode, put waterbased lube on the head, connect one plug of the leads to the head (that is the 4mm jacket in the middle of the butt plug) and the other one to the ElectroWhisker. Now Place both electrodes close to each other on the body and let them travel parallel close to each other without touching. This takes a bit of practice and coordination and obviously you don’t have a free hand to alter the output level yet it is the only way to safely play on the entire body. Speaking of lube: If you feel that the fan doesn’t travel well enough over the body please use water-based lube in order to ensure conductivity. As the scene progresses the lube dries becoming sticky which can increase the problem so lube up constantly.

Of cause the ElectroWhisker can also be used without e-stim for sensation play. Just letting it lightly travel over the body is an interesting combination of a tickling and scratching sensation. Increase the pressure breaking the bundle into segments for a more scratching feeling. Being made out of stainless steel the wires can be used for temperature play either cooling them down or heating them up. (Caution! This form of fire play is dangerous! Only do it if you have been taught by an experienced player!) When heating them especially if you want to make them glow red take care that you don’t heat them up too for up the handle otherwise the isolation and soldering can be damanged.

Cleaning this toy is easy: Simply spray a sanitizer on the fan and let it dry off. If you used lube wash it with hot water and soap. Please be careful not to get water into the area where the fan emerges. Getting the water out of there is a pain in the ass and drying takes ages!

Conclusion: A delicate and devilish toy that takes some practice to handle well with e-stim.

The E-Stim System 2b Pro Pack including the Power Unit and USB Link Cable

One of the most asked question regarding E-Stim is if the 2b is a good power unit. Since for a long time I haven’t had a chance to play with one I am very glad that E-Stim System provided me with a review sample for this year’s E-Stim Special.

Since this review was written, E-Stim Systems renamed the Pro Pack Bonus Pack, but the content stayed the same.

Construction

The 2b Pro Pack comes in a nice sturdy black box which with just a few modifications can also house some basic e-stim toys like sounds or conductive loops. Inside the storage box is the 2b power unit, a power supply unit with adaptors for the most common plug systems, a 9V battery, two 4mm banana plug leads, an audio CD with music for the audio input of the power box, the cable to connect your 2b to your PC, an USB stick with the connection and the remote control software which you need to update the firmware of your box and of cause a detailed printed manual.

The 2b power box itself is a black box which measures 145x80x35mm. On top on the right side there is a blue back light LCD. It shows the selected program, the adjustments done to the program (50:50 is the default value; the first value is for just turning the adjust knob, the second for when pressing the select button and turning the adjust knob), the output level of both channel, the selected output mode (low and high) and the battery status. Below that screen are three knobs and a button. The knobs from the left to the right control the intensity for channel A (under which the input of the internal mono microphone is located), the adjustment knob which manipulates the programs and the control for the intensity of channel B. If you press the button labeled select you enter the menu. By turning the adjustment know you can scroll through the different programs which you select by pressing the “Select” button again. After the different programs you reach the different setting menus where you can adjust the output level, engage the tri-phase mode, adjust the backlight or active the remote control mode. On the far right side of the top there are two LEDs which flesh in time with the stimulation.

On the front side there is a slider to activate the box and the input for the external power supply. On the right side there are three 3.5mm jackets. The left jacket is the output for the second channel, the middle is the input for the audio or the digital connection and the right is the output for the first channel. On the bottom of the box there is the lid under which the battery can be put.

Playing with it

Using the box is similar to other quite easy: Turn the box on using the slider and wait 7 seconds for it to boot while it makes a self check and it is ready for play. Then connect the leads to the electrodes, connect them to the box, select a program (the box boots by default into Pulse) and slowly increase the intensity on the desired channel. The 2b has 17 different programs. The sensation of the programs can be adjusted in two ways with different effects by either turning the adjust know or pressing down the select button while turning the adjust know.

I have to be honest: My first impression of “Well, I max that box pretty quickly.” Then changed the output level to high, used the external power supply which gives an additional 30% power boost and I quite enjoyed it. Yet in order to really love the box you really need to get to know it (like actually all sophisticated digital e-stim boxes). Once you start experimenting with the different modifications through the adjustment knob and the feel of the sensation with select+adjust a whole new world opens up from soft sensation that slowly bring more and more pleasure until I came up to excruciating pain scenes.  That being said this is not a power unit you buy, take out of the packaging and have all the fun. Of cause the standard settings are good and will get you off well but to truly unleash the potential of this box it takes quite some (very entertaining) time.

Especially when you are starting out with this box, one thing that takes a bit time to get used to are the controls. The resistance of the control knobs is a bit strong so it is hard to turn up the intensity quickly. Also: Once you press the “Select” button the stimulation stops until you select a new one which as a safety precaution starts at 1% intensity which at least for my play style is a bit annoying. But as soon as I got used to it, I adjusted my play style and it didn’t bother me anymore.

What sets the 2b apart from other power boxes is the remote control feature. You can connect your box to you computer using the USB-link cable included in the Pro Pack (which can be purchase separately for £89) and than either control is via your computer or let someone else control it over the internet. E-Stim System says this feature is still in beta status so be prepared for problem. During my test I didn’t experience any but this might not be the rule.

UPDATE OCT 2018

During Erofame this year, E-Stim Systems introduced a new remote control service called „Connect“ which is more realiable and easier to control than the old Commander. You can read everything out it here.

The box comes with a lifetime warranty and after a bit chaotic group scene I can assure you that it is sturdy build enough for limited impact (though try not to be like me a knock it down a table thrice one evening!).

Conclusion: Powerful, flexible yet a bit hard to control e-stim power box.

In last year’s e-stim special I already reviewed the Oxballs Zap and loved it a lot despite it being a bit small in some situations. So I am glad to start out this year’s e-stim special with two toys Oxballs sent me that fit most people with larger junks.

Construction

The construction of the Jolt is very much alike the Zap. The basis is a 12mm thick and between 20m and 24mm high on one side tapered ring out of platinum silicone which has a diameter of 45mm. On each high side there is hole through which the aluminum electrode is put. The contact area of the electrode has a diameter of 19mm. On the other side of the electrode there is a 4mm hole drilled in with there is sheath with a 2mm hole if you order the version for 2mm pin connector. The electrodes can be easily taken out for cleaning or using on other Oxballs e-stim toys.

The Volt is actually just an electrode. The profile of it looks like a C with a tapering base on one side. Inside the base there is the 4mm hole resp. 2mm sheath to connect the electrode with your power box. The space inside the C measures 16mm by 18mm. The entire electrode is 15mm wide and has an overall length of 39mm. It comes with a Sprocket cockring which is made out of Soflex TPR so it is super stretchy. It has a width of 10mm and a height of 12mm with a 25mm diameter opening in the middle.

The problem with the Zap designed as a ball stretcher was that through the rigidness of the platinum silicone it was hard to get over the balls. With the larger internal diameter of the Jolt this is no problem anymore – as long as you have a meat ball sack as I do. I have had people in my test pale whos balls were too big for the Zap yet too skinny for the Jolt. In this case the Volt comes into place: Through the C-shape part it can be attached to nearly any Oxballs toy or cockring. I have tried it with the Nuttsling, Splitsling, Powerballs, Trough and Unit X Stretch and it worked perfectly. So pick up two Volts, take your favorite Oxballs cockring (most ball stretchers from them are too high to work so if you want a stretch I recommend attaching the Volt to one and stack multiple stretcher) and put it around your balls. The ability to attach Volt to various ball toys makes it a nifty toy for all kinds of e-stim scenes. I used one at the top of a Nuttsling as the counter pole when using an e-stim sound. Another very useful scenario is putting a cockring around your wrist, attach the Volt and let the hand travel over the sub’s body holding a monopolar electrode like a pin wheel in your other hand. For this scenario I recommend using ample water-based lube.

But also the Jolt shines in the playroom. The tapered form allows for an even snuggier fit. It is also finally large enough to be put around pumped up dicks or (saline)-inflated balls or be worn as a cockring. Depending on if the opposite poles are left and right of the shaft or pressing against the root of the penis and the taint close to the prostate the effects can be… interesting. The most interesting scenario I used it for was in combination with an stainless steel ball stretcher. I put it around the already compressed balls. Through the ridgedness of the toy there was additionally lateral pressure applied to the balls. And then the e-stim was added…

Maintaining both toys is easy: They are safe to be used with the most common forms of lube like water- and oil-based, hybrid and silicone lubes. Though for the conductivity I strongly recommend only using both toys with water-based lube. When you have played with them simply wash them with warm water and detergent, rinse them and let them dry. After that to be extra safe I spray them with a sanitizer.

Conclusion: Very versatile bi-polar e-stim toy for larger (Jolt) and all sizes (Volt) junks.

The MyStim Tension Lover

The MyStim Tension Lover

When I introduced the Tension Lover as a desiderate in the e-stim special a lot of you were interested to know more about this inexpensive box. So I got in touch with MyStim and they luckily provided me with a review sample. If you are interested in what you get when you buy this toy please take a look at the unboxing of the Tension Lover I posted earlier this year.

Construction

The Tension Lover is made out of sturdy black plastic. It measures 127mm x 70mm x 27mm. On the back of the box there is a convenient belt clip.

On top of the bock there are two magenta colored dials through which you control the individual intensity of the two channels. Next to the dials the 2.65mm jacks of the channels are located. The upper third of the front is taken up by the display. On the left is shows which program is selected. In The middle you see from top to bottom which channel is active, the timer time, the width of the waves and the frequency. Below the display is a sliding hatch which covers the buttons. With the upper left you can switch between the seven different programs by going through them. The one below sets the timer in 10 minutes steps up to 60 minutes. The other two buttons are there to control the width and the frequency of the waves.

The Tension Lover runs on 9v block batteries. You can easily exchange it but pulling the sliding hatch down.

The toy comes along with two leads comes in a nice box with storage space for a battery and some additional toys. You can choose if you want it with self adhesive pad electrodes or silicones ones which I reviewed here. It even comes with a battery so you can start playing right away.

Playing with it

Playing with this box is like any other box: You choose a pair of electrodes, connect both poles onto one channel. Then you select one of the seven possible programs and see when your sub starts feeling the sensation. From there you can start playing and taking him further into the great sensation has to offer. During the test my testees and I agreed that generally speaking the sensations coming out of this box are a bit more on the stingy side. That is not a bad thing, just to something to keep in mind when planning a scene.

From a beginner’s perspecitve my view on this box is a bit ambivalent. It offers great value for money so it is a good starting point in the entire e-stim cosmos. The 7 programs offer enough presets for most situations even though they are not so sophisticated as the programs on Erostek boxes. Of cause you can compensate that a bit when you start to manipulate the programs by adjusting the width and frequency of the waves. But this takes a bit of trying out and really getting to know your box and electrodes (which you should do in any case before you expose someone to the stimulation!). Since this is a start box the same program and the manipulations run on both channels. However you can control the intensity individually. Especially when trying to milk someone getting the same stimulation at both areas in my experience has been helpful. Another good thing for beginners is the manual. It explains the general way and especially this box works very well. With a bit of reading and practice you soon be able to master this box.

From a more elaborate player’s perspective I can unconditionally recommend getting this box. It costs less than most electrodes so it has a place in every estim play chest. What sets it apart and above every other even more sophisticated box I have played with so far is the ability to provide continuous stimulations without any fuzz. This is extremely useful when playing with electrodes like a pin wheel or a whisker which intention is not to create a changing sensation at one place but a continuous sensation when travelling over the body. Another great feature is the timer. Once set it will automatically stop the stimulation once the time runs out. I have found that a very useful feature in tunnel scenes where the sub agrees to a time of stimulation and then you leave him well bound and rendered blind alone (but still in hearing range!). I have gotten some priceless reactions from subs when the stimulation without any action of the top. Of cause the timer in combination with the through the belt clip implicated mobility offers countless possibilities of deviant play. The sliding hatch closes very firmly so it doesn’t accidently opens up when walking around which makes accidently chances of the program impossible. It is also a good way of keeping the in mitts fettered hands of a sub from changing anything.

There is also a third perspective that should not be forgotten: MyStim is the erotic department of a company making TENS units for medical purposes the box can also be used for TENS purposes. With a bit of exercise you learn how to place pad electrodes and which stimulation you need to create pain and tension relief. Especially after suspension bondage and impact play scene the box became quite popular with subs and tops of mine.

A thing you have to take into consideration when planning on buying this box is a design decisions that I could not quite understand: As already written MyStim is a department of a company that makes TENS units for medical purposes and maybe in that field 2.65mm jacks onto 2mm pin are common. But due to being the professional laboratory standard I personally consider 3.5mm audio plug onto 4mm banana plug the gold standard in estim. This isn’t a big problem when you use surface electrode because you can easily use adapters. However when you start using insertables that rely on 4mm banana plugs (like great ones from E-Stim System) you need to build your own connectors because there are not 4mm angle plugs onto 2mm pin jack out there. If you are getting a MyStim Tension lover I would strongly recommend getting yourself two MyStim plug onto 3.5mm audio jack adapters and use 3.5mm audio plug onto 4mm banana plug cables.

Conslusion: Inexpensive and powerful multiple adjustable box with a few design problems.

Earlier this week I reviewed the Oxballs Zap and liked it a lot for its smooth sensation and versatility. However at its original purpose – an e-stim ball stretcher – it had a bit of a problem getting full score because it was difficult to put on. Luckily the perverts at Oxballs came up with something.
A couple of month ago Oxballs introduced a new electrifiable ball stretcher: The Jolt. While it is still made out if the medical grade platinum silicone it is not as high yet a bit larger than the Zap so it is probably easier to put on as a ball stretcher. The Jolt uses the same electrodes so the stimulation will be as smooth as with the Zap.

If you are still concerned that the stretcher might be too tight for your big balls or want to apply electrodes to other areas of the body take a look at the Oxballs Volt. It is basically an electrode that can be put onto your favorite Oxballs toy to turn it into an e-stim toy.
The Jolt costs $49 as a monopole with one electrode and $59 as a bi-pole with two electrodes so you don’t need another electrode to create a sensation.
The Volt is sold as individual electrodes together with a Sprocket cockring for $30.

Construction

Unlike most Oxballs ballstretcher the Zap has an oval shape. It is 25mm wide and 38mm long with a height of 33mm. The material is 8mm thick so in combination with the compact shape it is a quite sturdy ball stretcher. On each long side there is a reinforced hole through which you can put the electrodes. They are made out of aircraft grade aluminum and have a conductive area with a diameter of 19mm. The rough mushroom shape helps keeping them in place. You can order them with either one or two electrode and 2mm pin or 4mm banana plug jacket.

Unlike most Oxballs toys this stretcher is not made out of FlexTPR but medical grade silicone.

This material choice is a curse and a blessing. It is firmer than the “usual” FlexTPR so the stretcher is a little bit stronger yet it is soft enough to be worn comfortable even just as a stretcher without e-stim. But the firmer material and small internal diameter makes it a bit hard and tricky to put the stretcher on – regardless if your ball are large (than the small diameter is a challenge) or if they are small (where you will struggle with firmness). This also makes putting the stretcher onto a bound sub a bit difficult.

So much about the criticism. I really LOVE that toy! The firmness becomes a huge advantage when it comes to e-stim. Regardless if the balls are large or small, meaty or skinny the electrodes make skin contact for a good and reliable stimulation. For a ball stretcher the electrodes have a pleasantly large mass and contact area so the stimulation can range from a smooth, tantalizing sizzle to excruciating pain. This especially works well when you get the stretcher with two electrodes so you can really fry your balls. The form of the stretcher makes it perfect for another form of CBT: Milking. The “traditionally” of e-stim milking it putting a conductive silicone loop around the glans. However with this method the stimulated area can’t be targeted precisely. But with the Zap’s electrode you can precisely target the frenulum for an intense stimulation of the most sensitive area of the dick. Luckily putting it on the dick is quite easy so it is my way to go if the stretcher won’t fit around the balls. Apart from using the electrode in the stretcher for CBT the mushroom shape makes them easy to grip so they can be used as a skin electrode. Simply apply some conductive lube and let them travel over your subs body. For doing so, please put something isolating around your fingers like rubber gloves so you don’t accidently let currency flow through your body.

As nearly every Oxballs toy this toy is easy to care for: After having used it throw it into hot water with a bit of detergent or in a club simply spray a disinfection solution on it. Oxballs says on their website that you can use any form of lube with it. However I don’t trust silicone based lube with this toy because theoretically the silicone oil in it will disintegrate the stretcher. But to be honest I haven’t tried it out. Because water-based lube will also improve conductivity of the electrodes I would recommend sticking to that kind of lube.

Finally a piece of advice when purchasing this toy: Usually I would recommend getting the electrodes with the jacket that fits your e-stim system. However in this case I would in any case recommend going for the 4mm banana plug jacket (unlike I did…). The stretcher sits between the thighs which is a rather confined space which is the perfect scenario for a right-angle plug. However there are no 2mm pin right angle plugs out there (if you know where to get one, please send me an e-mail) but there are 4mm banana right-angle plugs. So if you have a 2mm pin e-stim box, get yourself an adapter with a right angle, it makes your life and play with this toy so much easier.

Conslusion: Versatile e-stim ball stretcher once you have managed to put it on.
