No Anal Toy special would be complete without a review of one of the oldest silicone fantasy toy makers, Bad Dragon. Over the past decade I have reviewed over three dozens of their toys but your thirst (through reader questions) for me never seems to be quenched. So because of this I might sound like a broken record in the construction section. If you have experience with the brand (or silicone toys in general), go straight to the juicy stuff below where I talk about the toys themselves. And yes, after years of asking, I am FINALLY reviewing a tentacle toy for you!
Construction
Bad Dragon was the first toy maker who only made silicone toys which I reviewed. At first I was a bit skeptical because the toys were considerably more expensive than rubber and vinyl toys and softer (back then I preferred firm toys for various reasons). Over the years and through more reviews of Bad Dragon (and later other silicone anal toys), I educated myself and fell in love with the material and have since replaced all my other toys with silicone ones.
First of all, platinum silicone is 100% body safe. There are not dangerous plasticizers that can emit, leak or wash out with water-based lube and get absorbed directly into the bloodstream through the thirsty rectum mucosa. This if of course only true if – like Bad Dragon does – only body safe colors are being used! In the past year, I have been getting a lot of reader questions about various East Asian dildo makers and their platinum silicone toys. While they use platinum silicone like western dildo makers, some are using colors and dyes which are not body safe and potentially poisonous and hazardous! While it might be tempting to by an inexpensive toy off Amazon, I personally stick to brands which must comply with western product safety standards. Besides that, I have yet to see a true original design from these makers instead of a random best-of combination of shapes and textures from Bad Dragon, Weredog and other anthro toy makers. So I support the makers who are genuinely creative, support local events and the community instead of feeding some off scene drop shipping business who is just interested in our money.
Speaking of colors, platinum silicone is the best material which can take on colors. And when it comes coloration, Bad Dragon is the industry leader for colorations, patterns and designs. Over the years they have release (seasonal) limited editions, party using UV active and glow in the dark colors. Some other makers have started to catch u, like Weredog in which Bad Dragon holds a stake. But when it comes to creativity and execution, Bad Dragon is still king. To help you find the right coloration for you, Bad Dragon has a 3D configurator on their website which has also a sizing tool.
More important than the color is the firmness of your toy because it determines how easily the toy pops through the sphincter and how intensely the texture is felt. Bad Dragon offers four firmnesses now which are Extra-Soft (Shore 00-50), Soft (Shore A2), Medium (Shore A5) and Firm (Shore A8 which is still relatively soft). The larger a toy, the firmer it will feel because there is more mass to compress. Harder firmnesses will also make texture feel more rugged. High textures likes spikes or ridges that massage in soft firmness can actually start to feel scratchy (but will never actually scratch because the material is too soft). It will also make the toy harder to take because the more complex and rigid the surface, the harder it will be for the hole to relax and open up. If you want to ride your toy, choosing a firm base with a soft or medium shaft is always a good idea because it will give the toy a better stand.
The final decision when ordering your toys is deciding which additional features you want to add to your toy. The suction cup is probably the most often chosen one as it gives the toy an even better stand than a firm base. The cup is really deep and uses the entire surface of the base so it can create a heavy duty vacuum. If you like to play in your bathroom, the suction cup is almost a must-have because it allows you to fix the dildo onto the floor or a tiled wall. Last year Bad Dragon introduced their version of a Vac-U-Lock hole, the Dragon Mount. This opened Bad Dragon toys to a world of accessories from grips over external suction cups to fuck machines. However most fuck machines cannot handle the weight and length of massive XL silicone toys. When you are playing with a partner, the hole can also be an anchor point for your thumb for better guiding the toy into his anus. Sadly the suction cup is incompatible with their Dragon Mount Vac-U-Lock hole so it is hard to recommend which one to get. Usually, I always recommend to get the hole because it opens the world to such versatile play. But historically I have been getting most Bad Dragons with a suction cup and never missed the Dragon Mount hole on my newer toys where I could have gotten it instead of the suction cup. Maybe this is a good piece of advice: When you order smaller toys and have a fuck machine, go for the Dragon Mount. For XL toys, the suction cup is the better option because it will keep your toy from sliding away when knotting HARD. The finally add-on is the cum tube. It is a silicone tube which runs through the shaft until the tip of the head. At the bottom is syringe is attached which can be filled with cum lube to shoot into your rectum. Especially with large toys you need large quantities of lube to full the tube with lube before it shoots into your body. For this short-lived effect the cleaning effort increases massively. I have tried the effect several times and it was not worth the effect, increased cleaning effort and more difficult handling (the cum tube and syringe is permanently attached to the toy and dangles around). But after every Bad Dragon review I publish, I get several messages by people who are in love with their cum shooting toy. So before you choose one, I recommend trying it out with a friend’s toys if the added sensation is worth everything it entails. Or buy a Lil’Squirt from Bad Dragon as a try out toy.
Silicone has also a super-smooth surface which has various advantages: It makes it difficult for bacteria to linger and easy to clean. Simply throw the toy into hot soap water, rub the lube off and spray sanitizer on it afterwards. It also makes the toy glide in a bit easier than the a bit porous surface of vinyl and rubber. Of course you still need lube for the toy to slide in with ease. When you play with silicone toys, you have to stick ti water- or oil-based lubes. The silicone oil inside silicone lube solvates silicone, makes the surface sticky and will disintegrate the toy over time. Silicone is a very sturdy material. When you take good care of your toys, clean and dry them thoroughly, not use silicone lube, store them apart from other toys emitting plasticizers which just being an agent in the air can damage your other toys, they will last you a lifetime.
Playing with Deuce
The first thing you notice when looking at Deuce is the MASSIVE glans. It sits like a slightly domed rivet at the top of the shaft. Lines of shallow bumps and lateral ridges converging to the hinted urethra texture its surface. The slops on the side are almost vertical and carve slightly in. This tip does not gradually open up your sphincter but really FORCES itself in. Once it opens the anus, it POPS and locks in place almost violently. In order to take and even more enjoy Deuce, you should be really relaxed and pre-stretched.
The shaft bends slightly forwards and tapers a bit towards the bottom. The front and the back are textured with shallow snakeskin like scales. The sides have a bit more intense texture with overlapping shell plates. On the top third there bump pairs on top of the shells. In the lower third, the shell cluster splits into two thick strains, giving section above the base deep, a bit jugged texture.
The base itself is round and has only a slightly larger footprint than the shaft’s diameter. Especially in combination with a suction cup, it is large and sturdy enough for a secure fit even when riding it hard. If you can manage to take it deeper because that dull glans is not really made for softly opening up the second sphincter and going around the bends of your colon.
The slight, yet noticeable texture makes for a light stimulation of the anus. Especially turning the upper third with the bumps inside the anus is a nice feeling. The contrast of only light scales and higher bumps feels like a wave of sensations moving through the body. However, to really enjoy the toy, you need a big rectum. Otherwise the big glans bumps against the walls which can feel uncomfortable. Because of this, most of my testees used Deuce as a prostate milking toy. The big, flat tip is good for applying pressure onto it and the big glans drop gives you good leverage when brushing over it. But this probably works better with a firm large or even medium sized one than a soft XL like I have gotten, partly because the small sizes are of course lighter and easier to handle. I can only recommend the XL to the most trained and greediest holes if you really want to use it fully!
Playing with Kragg
Unlike its predecessor Kragg’s tip is pointy and steeply tapering – at least for the first two centimeters because the glans sits perpendicularly to the shaft. While this tip is good for locking the toy inside the sphincter and then riding downwards, this toy VERY quickly expands in size.
The bulging glans rim is textured with small bumps. The overall shape of the glans can be described as arrow head. From the pointy tip, it expands towards the bottom where it has a w-shaped recess which has a microtexture of small bumps.
From the tip of a glans runs a thin and short strain towards the bottom side of the shaft. There is gets bigger and textured by perpendicular tall half-circle ridges which themselves have a small bump microtexture. Left and right of this mean ventral groove run also microtextured tall half-dome bumps.
While the bottom and sides of Kragg are wild and heavily textured, the top is relatively tame. There are a few thin perpendicular lines of shallow bumps which divide the pockmarked surface. But otherwise, your hole can focus on the top.
The base is massive, almost three times the space of the shaft! It is heavy textured with raised folds covered with bumps. So even when you struggle with taking Kragg and have to apply a large (yet safe and sensitive!) amount of pressure, it will not slip. In the hands of a top, the big base makes handling the toy a bit difficult, so I lean towards recommending it for self play. Or getting it with the Dragon Mount and using a Vac-u-Lock handle.
Like Deuce, Kragg is a pro’s toy! The abrupt increase in size again requires a loose and relaxed hole. This gets even more challenging when the texture starts. Each ridge pops through the sphincter, increasing the change for it to tense up. Once your hole has accustomed itself to the heavy texture and relaxed, riding Kragg is hot and horny! The ridges giving the prostate a brush massage is a bit like edging. Not enough pressure to give you a prostate orgasm, but definitively intense enough for getting horny and worked up – all while the bumps massage your anus.
The shaft is slightly bending backwards which should make taking the toy deep more easily. But due to the rapid increase in diameter and heavy texture, you really need to be depth savvy and well trained for your second sphincter not to clench right away.
Since the texture is so deep and narrow, Kragg is not really made for turning inside the hole. The texture and get jacked inside the anus. When you are a real anal masochist, give it a try. But otherwise, stick to riding Kragg.
Playing with Ika
Having safe the best for last, FINALLY, after many reader questions, a tentacle toy review. The overall design of Ika is simple yet elegant. The overall shape of the body follows slightly an S: The thin tip curves forward. While gradually increasing in diameter the body bends forwards and at the bottom bulges backwards.
The top half of the back is untextured, the bulging bottom features small dents. As the name implies, the top is textured with a parallel line of sucker cups which gradually increase in diameter as you move down the shaft. For added texture, the sucker cups sit on wide and softly raising lateral bulges which run around ¾ of the shaft.
Like on Deuce, the base is only slightly larger than the shaft, making the toy both good to handle inside a top’s hands and providing a sturdy stand when riding it.
Ika is readlly a beginners toy who wants to explore the different aspects of anthro toys. The thin tip taking the toy easy, both through the anus and the second sphincter. Of course, it takes a bit of getting used to sucker cups. As they natural counter parts, they sometimes create a vacuum and especially down the shaft when they get larger, their flappy rims can facilitate a stutter movement.
The S-shape and thin tip can also be a gateway through the second sphincter though I recommend some pre-stretching and desensitizing with less bendy toys. Otherwise, the easily bendable tip will press in vain against the clenching sphincter. Once it goes through bit the shape and very gradual increase in diameter starts training the depth of your colon. Again, progress slowly with loads of lube because the sucker cups can have the same effect than on your anus. Just that this body area is even more sensitive.
Over time, you should be able to take about half of the body through your second hole. If you have managed that, the big bulging bottom is stretching your anus quite a lot. This combination is actually useful for training to knot K9 toys. In order to take Ika completely, you need to handle the intense stimulation inside the colon while your anus is getting stretched to the max, a roughly similar yet still completely different feeling when taking a knot.
Where to buy?
While Bad Dragon has some retailers now, like Mr S in San Francisco or Gear in Berlin, I highly recommend ordering from Bad Dragon’s own website. The retails naturally only have ready-made toys. If you invest so much money into a toy, it should really fit your demands and desires both in looks and features. So I recommend customizing and ordering the toys from their website like I do.
